I missed the second half of Sunday's episode due to the football game, and I wasn't home to reset the DVR. Where can I get full episodes of The Mentalist? CBS's website doesn't seem to have them. Do they post them somewhere else?

If CBS isn't posting their episodes, they have a long way to go to catch up to the other networks.

Does anyone know why every episode's title contains the word, "Red"?

Presumably as an allusion to the serial killer 'Red John', who killed Jane's family and whose pursuit will be an overarching storyline throughout the series' history. I doubt his capture will be quite as satisfying as Richard Kimble finally catching the one-armed man who killed his family, but its good to have a goal in life.

The latest episode had "crimson" instead of Red...I'm wondering if they go with the rest of the Red synomyns and shades for upcoming episodes (bungundy, scarlet, etc..)

And about red, how about a RED dressed Tricia Helfer cameo? (or I just want to see her everywhere now?)

OMG I laughed so hard at the Cho Sex Machine stuff.... I'm still wondering what he whispered to the lady...(and if they have said yes)

Sad that Patrick hasn't moved on with his life and still doesn't want to date yet, he had a huge opportunity there...

RIP Mom, we always love you 8/18/13

I'm torn. Between this, Fringe on Fox, and Scrubs on ABC, I'm stuck. Mentalist got the boot, but only because the other two shows took priority on the DVR. I'll just have to pick this up on DVD when it comes out, assuming it gets picked up for another season.

I'm just the opposite.

Fringe stopped being compelling and Scrubs got old at least a season ago for me. The Mentalist was a refreshing change for me. I checked out "Lie to Me", but it looked like a potentially one trick pony, so I gave it up to concentrate on Lost and Life.

She was barely 18 when filmed though, so her acting is a little unpolished.

Just noticed that Angel Blade is missing from her official Bio - and has been removed from her wiki page.

The latest Fringe was probably the best episode they've had, it saved me from finally saying good bye to the show, it's too bad there's no new eps until April.

I don't think "Lie To Me" is going to last at all, the main character is very unlikeable, and as you say, there's really only one "hook", plus, the show has a very bland, monotone look to it, not very inviting. It's almost like something you'd see on a Discovery Channel, like a science show, not very entertaining. The Mentalist, OTOH, is very entertaining in my opinion, the characters are likable and even if it does stretch the imagination a bit, it's good TV.

Also, there's something about the way Kelli Williams talks that annoys me, quite often she sounds like she's speaking with marbles in her mouth.

Anyway, my prediction is that come Sept, "Lie To Me" will be a distant memory while "The Mentalist" will still be racking up good ratings.

Yup that was so good
Still lovin' this show and like mostly all the characters but still find Van Pelt the weak link on the show
I'm hoping they keep her at a minimum but give Lisbon more to do since I think she makes a much better and more convincing agent
You got to love Cho and Jane the 'DYNAMIC DUO'

:

I'm the exact opposite. More Van Pelt and less Lisbon! Although, admittedly, it's not because of their acting chops...

We (wife and I) enjoyed the show from the first episode, and I think it's getting better (as with any series, there will be weak episodes scattered here and there). One thing that I really like is the writers are developing Cho and Rigsby (and to a lesser extent Van Pelt) into more than the "comic relief contrast to Jane". Any good team will have contributions from everyone, not just the superstar. Lisbon always held her own against Jane, but I wouldn't be surprised to see the writers develop her character in good ways (actually I expect it).

Cho walking through the room in his new clothes and shades - excellent stuff. And his "pizza" line - also excellent! "There's no business like Cho business" - brilliant!

And then the end of the episode transitioned so well from the satisfaction of the case solving and the humor (Cho, etc) to a bit of relationship seriousness with the Fricke character and the girl he "loved", to a bit of pathos in showing the sadness and loneliness still present in Jane. Good writing, good acting.

Cho was most definately the scene stealer last night and yes his delivery was priceless
I'd like to like Van Pelt but Amanda is simply not compelling enough in her acting to draw me in and while she is very pretty I do not buy her as an agent and she looks uncomfortable in that role
But agree Risgby and Lisbon are coming along nicely and of course Jane's outstanding so all in all The Mentalist's always entertaining despite the few setbacks

Don't forget the part where Cho cut him off as Jane was trying to give him advice about picking up the two women, "Yeah, I got it . . . . Hello, ladies."

I think Cho's the best character on the show. His deadpan is priceless. Nice to see Tim Kang's career progressing. Remember him from the AT&T commercials? He was also in the last Rambo movie.

This series is very good but Van Pelt is still the weak link .. She is quite lovely but just don't buy her as an agent at all. The scenes where she was interrogating the guy was cringeworthy to watch .. Less Van Pelt or recast the character with a better actress since Amanda is not pulling it off . Don't care how cute she is she is not convincing in this role at all .

At least she (Amanda) did well in the final scene last night (another excellent episode, I thought), where Rigsby heads out on the date with the hot tennis / country club lady, both obviously looking forward to it, and the glances all around by everybody, looking at each other and Van Pelt.

A wonderful display of various expressions by all of the cast.

Of course, looking surprised and maybe a bit rueful is not the same as showing the acting chops to be a strong confident "CBI" character.

While the mystery wasn't all that complex in the episode (as soon as it was clear the original murdered lady was dealing prescription drugs, I made the connection between her and the dead daughter), I thought the ensemble story and acting was very strong.

I liked the con-woman character. She was a regular in the ABC Scifi show "Invasion" a couple seasons ago too.
Hope she returns as she hinted to Patrick Jane at the end!

Nice episode.. next week season finale right?

That guy with the shotgun almost shooting Cho and Rigsby reminded me of that recent event in Texas of the couple shooting "tresspasers"

Bring on next week I want some Red John please..

I find that odd as well. Since its start the show has consistently delivered, and this last episode was a good example of that.

At least one of the shows I like this year is coming back for a second season.
