So what did everyone think of the ending, which ends up as the series ending?

Personally, while I thought the "love conquers all, and everyone lives happily ever after" end was a little cheesy, it was kind of expected with it being a disney property and I thought the way they did it was pretty good. The episode overall was fantastic and had me on the edge of my seat the whole time.

Hit me up on XBL if you're going to be playing CoD Ghosts or the PS Vita

I agree. I enjoyed the series and the end is something I can live with.

a lot of lesbians were thrilled about the Cara/Dahlia relationship and are upset that it's "erased" in the new alternate reality.
The finale didn't seem like an ending, they were definitely setting up Sister Nicci as the big bad of season 3, that might have been interesting.

Looks like there is a movement to bring LoTS to DirecTV's 101 a la "Friday Night Lights". I just saw this on their Twitter.

Huh? How can they not have anything to do with Katrina, when they are of her? You must have downloaded the other images from the other episodes.

Oh, that would suck. I do not get D* and Disney/ABC sucks in that they haven't released the series on Blu-ray.

This series needs to be done/released in true 1920x1080 HD. Is D* still doing HD-lite, i.e., 1440x1080?

Obviously I want the series to continue. Not enthused about the methods.

Keep in mind that NBC/Universal pissed on their fans as well. The idiots released the edited NBC/OTA Friday Night Lights version instead of the longer version that aired on D*. Don't know if they are doing the same thing with this season.

No respect, no respect at all.

OK, that is resolved. Now to get NBC/Universal to respect the people who buy their product and release the uncut D* version. Then again, NBC isn't exact;ly known for their brilliance.

I think you mean over compressed, since all consumer digital video is compressed. Ya, their jamming three HD programs into a single QAM channel, meant for two, is just plain stupid. Their new motto must be: "We cram more video into the stream, so that we can make it look really crappy, and charge you more for doing that"

Spartacus outfits > LOTS outfits

Then again, comparing it to Spartacus is an insult to Spartacus and Ms. Law.

Don't get any "cable" channel, be it via cable or DBS, so I have no idea what the outfits look like in action.

Starz can be a lot more daring regarding costuming, compared to an OTA program.

Consider the medium it is playing out on.

I'm surprised Starz didn't pick this up. They already have a working relationship with Tapert and Raimi and a lot of the same crew work on both this and Spartacus. With Spartacus being down for an indeterminate amount of time they could have grabbed this to fill a slot. Maybe it was too expensive for Starz or maybe Disney didn't want to go for some of the sexier or gorier stuff that Starz would probably want to warrant it being on a pay channel. Too bad, this was an entertaining show with very good production values. Very busy finale with a bit of a cliffhanger. Rahl is now back in the real world and looks like he had plans for Nikki. Might have been good. Looks like I'll have to read the books.

Everyone puts out compressed signals, of course; the issue is whether there is additional compression. However, I found that, once they got it working well, Comcast's 3 mux'ed channels were almost as good as standard 2 mux'ed channels.

However, while HD-lite might be gone from DirecTV, do not assume that HD-lite is long gone from our lives. Efforts are being arrayed to move us to more of an online distribution-based model, and as we can see with Hulu, HD-lite comes back whenever necessary to fit content in whatever pipe they decide to use next.

Ya, I know, this is almost two years late. I came back to this thread because of the posting that will be next.

But, to respond to what you said, the lack of respect from NBC Universal is that they produced a series of episodes that are longer for airing on DBS, yet they have no respect for the hard earned money that the buying public put forth to purchase the DVDs, only to discover (if they knew there were longer episodes) that they were shortchanged by being sold the edited OTA versions. That is the lack of respect I am talking about.

Have a little respect and package the original first aired versions and not the hacked, repeated, versions (yes, I know, not a repeat as far as NBC network is concerned).

I have a question for those who might know.

During the first season, except for the first two episodes, until until episode 15, production #115, the episodes were not necessarily aired in production number order, starting with the third episode of the season.

Normally we blame the network for farting with the airing sequence, but in this case the production company is the one that played with the airing order.

The question is, is the order they aired in (101, 102, 104-106, 103, 107-109, 111, 110, 114, 112, 113) the intended order by the producers, or should the episodes have been aired in production number order, like the rest of the 1st season and all of the 2nd season? Or did Disney/ABC take liberty when they aired them?

I'm working on a project and if anyone knows the answer to this, please let me know.

Thanks.

After reading all the books and watching all the shows, it appears that how they aired on TV followed the books pretty closely.

Agreed. Being very much a "location" show I think some were filmed out of order simply because they couldn't get the location they needed.

This thread necro reminds me how much I miss this series. I really should get off the Internets and back into the book series...

Ah, the advantage of having all of the episodes safely tucked away as ~35 Mbps MPEG-2 1080i files.

It is very unfortunate that TPTB only decided to releases this series on DVD, i.e., no Blu-ray.

Agree. Saw this in Best Buy and could not believe it was not on blu ray. What a waste. Cara my fave as well.

ABC Studios has been horrible at release TV shows on Blu-ray.

"What do you say Beckett. Wanna have a baby?" - Castle to Det. Beckett
"How Long have I been gone?" Alexis after arriving home and seeing Castle and Beckett w/ the baby - Castle - 11/25/13

Yeah, watched the last episode again on NF, then checked out the first to see how it changed. I thought they did wrap it well, not too many loose plot lines.
