It would be a great job! Im sorry to burst your bubble that it is going to be on Thursdays for only 3 weeks. I love the show too. The shape shifter has me laughing hysterically! It is my new favorite obstacle they have had!

Yeah, right. If any of us worked there, we'd never even see the wipeouts. We'd all be looking at Jill.

Knowing this will offend some people, but...

Can we cut all the comments & crud about Jill?!

This thread is way out of hand. It should be about the show and the wipeouts. If you need porn, then check out the "skin-a-max" channels. I'm tired of wading thru posts that seem they are from horny teenagers that hope to "glimpse a boobie"!!!

Geez people, GET A LIFE!!!

Well, Here's my Sig!!!

I didnt get the point of the first obstacle. Were they just supposed to hang on for as long as they can? It was almost the same for everybody.

I also didn't like the new motivator. It barely did anything to people! The fun of the old one was that it would totally knock people off their feet.

I will say that there was that one new obstacle toward the end of the course that would sweep people if they didn't get the rhythm of it correctly (which noone did). That was hysterical!

And the new wipeout zone looked super hard. Especially given that the fastest time was almost 13 minutes! (which was way better than ~3 minutes for the previous course).

Foam will do that.

Liked the finale obstacles and the springboard. The others, not so much.

Jill looked great, as always.

If you held on/avoid the swinging hammer like device you could then step through and proceed on. If you failed you have to go through the mud which takes much longer. One guy did this correctly and got through quickly.

Wipeout people, if you're reading this... The more shots up side the head the better although the sucker punch is getting a bit old. Also, look down below for my Motivator idea. You can send me a check later. Thanks xD

No clue at all... I think that's why they cut it out after a few shots because it was just a waste of time...

I think the problem with the new motivator is people have to stand farther forward towards the edge, if the don't it would catapult them not push them forward. Safety issue for them. Some of the contestant probably figured that out and it worked for them. The problem with the old motivator is it takes too long to swing. Again though, the idea is to push the person though not launch. Personally, I think I'd have an arm up and then a horizontal arm that goes and slaps them across the ass. That sounds so hilarious I'm laughing my ass off now.

It's not all that funny for me, I'm surprised people haven't been seriously hurt on that. lol I miss the human cookie cutter, namely the one where they slide on that rail so their timing has to be perfect.

Yeah, although... That's when it gets too serious and not so funny.

I prefer the cookie cutter where they have to jump on the trampoline. That gives them a harder impact when they miss. The bar they hang on to moves too slowly so they just kind of slide off.

Between a wipeout zone covered in foam or having paint constantly shot at your face wherever you are on the course has really stepped up the difficulty of it this season. Last week the people could hardly see because paint had covered their entire face not even halfway through.

Are there two separate course areas? One for the qualifier and one for the Wipeout Zone? Because it must take lots of time to do those setups.

Well, it does appear to be mid-day in the qualifier and it's night for the finale, so there are obviously a few hours involved. Add in all the cleaning of the equipment that takes place between the contestants and there's even more time gone. I'd guess the whole show is taped within somewhere around 8 hours total, not including the initial course setup. I would also wager that the initial setup is not as time-consuming as we might think, as it appears that they film on the same bit of land every episode and likely just leave the majority of the course up all the time.

Interesting, to say the least! Nice job.

Set looks unfinished, as though they were in mid-construction.

They give all the constestants $10 for gas. LOL!

I don't bother reading stuff especially if it's blogs, but this was a first.

Kunitz, who adds that the show's stunts are designed to allow for a 90 percent failure rate.

Which makes 100% WIN!

Our best moments with Jill are when she doesn't even know the camera's on, says Kunitz. Jill has this terrible fear of bees, and we're out on a ranch, so naturally there's bees. We just tell the camera guy, Never turn off the camera just keep rolling on Jill.' Because when she's freaking out about the bees, that's what we're gonna use.

****ing Awesome, btw never tell her (although I'm sure she knows by now)

After the stunts are built, they're elaborately tested. A crew of 19-25 year-olds referred to as the black and blues including professional athletes and ex-military types run through the stunts many times in many scenarios, making sure they're safe.

Good to know although, don't think it helps the over 25 yr. olds. lol

The surprise quote of that NY Post article:
Quote:

International production companies from countries including Denmark, Estonia and the U.K. fly out their contestants, hosts, and maybe a limited creative team to film a season in Argentina, and then they broadcast it back home. As of last year, Wipeout was the third most popular game show in the world, behind Who Wants to Be a Millionaire and Dead or No Deal.

You have to realize these shows are taped long in advance of air time. So the order of airing may differ greatly from the order of taping. Many of the obstacles in the qualifier stage may have been holdovers from the prior season. I think the only thing closer to airing date/time is the studio setup where the Johns (Anderson/Henson) do play-by-play and commentary.

Of course, they all (referring to the Johns and Jill) could be doing things like this all at the same time, then maybe re-recording the studio stuff later as things change (the intro of the Wii "Wipeout" game, for example).
