The show itself is OK.

Stevie, however, is an inspired creation.

I thought I made a post but it's not showing up.

Anyways, EB&D is better than anything on television. It provides a half hour of good laughs. Kenny Powers is more like the average American than what's on network television.

You get out of town. :-) Two and a Half men, IMHO, isn't even the funniest show on CBS. That distinction, IMHO, belongs to "The Big Bang Theory."

But right now Eastbound & Down is up there with BBT, South Park, and Family Guy. Really funny stuff, but no surprise considering Danny Mcbride and his body of work so far (Foot Fist Way, Pineapple Express, Tropic Thunder, etc). He and Will Farrell (who discovered him and put him on the map) are a good combo when they have scenes together.

I hope HBO gives us a full season, and not a shortened 6 episode run. Kenny Powers is very funny. It would be awesome to know each week Kenny would be around to make us laugh.

HBO Renews ‘Eastbound & Down'

Comedy series to return in 2010

By David Tanklefsky -- Broadcasting & Cable

Kenny Powers is heading back to the big leagues. Eastbound & Down, the HBO comedy series starring Danny McBride, is returning for a second season, the network announced Wednesday. New episodes are scheduled to debut in 2010.

The six-episode comedy, executive produced in part by Will Farrell, received critical praise. The series tells the story of a star Major League pitcher, Powers, whose self-destructiveness drives him out of baseball and back to his hometown where he becomes a middle school Phys Ed teacher. The final episode leaves off with Powers landing another big-league offer.

"Eastbound & Down's raucous comedy sparked a loyal and enthusiastic following that grew throughout the season," said Michael Lombardo, president of HBO's programming group and West Coast operations, in a statement. "We're happy to bring the show back for more innings."

In addition to Ferrell, the show is executive produced by Adam McKay, Chris Henchy, Jody Hill, Danny McBridge, and Ben Best.

Whew, thank god, unlike others, the FX post scared me. I don't want to see an edited version in the US. It won't work as well if it's toned down.

Good to have this show back, first new episode in what, 17 months? 18?

Good stuff..."I transcend race." (In fact, so did the little guy, Aaron, who is actor Deep Roy [the Oompa-Loompa from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) who is of Indian descent, looked odd to have him play a Mexican)

Hope we see some of the people from his hometown. I miss Stevie. Stevie Janowski!!

Season 2 Episode 1 had me LMFAO. This show is a must watch for anyone with a sense of humor that doesn't get easily offended. Kenny's interaction with the Mexicans was priceless. The scene at the **** burial had me in tears. Then at the end when he rolls onto the baseball diamond on the mo-ped and gives his motivational speech was just classic Kenny f'n Powers. God I love this show. I hope this show goes at least 12-13 episodes this season. Along with Dexter it's the TV highlight of my week.

Yeah, Aaron (odd name for a Mexican, no?) was hysterical! Best season premier out of any of the shows I watch so far this season.

I thought Season 1 was pretty good but not great b/c it was too silly/goofy/unrealistic at times. That said, I loved Season 2 Episode 1! Fantastic stuff. Hope it continues.

I thought S 2 Ep 2 like S 2 Ep 1 was simply fantastic.

Really enjoying the show this season, more so than the 1st which was pretty good too.

All the Stevie stuff was great.

It took a while for any comments last week as well. For some reason AVSers in general don't watch this show. I know Sundays in the fall are a busy night, but a great comedy is a great comedy.

I love that we got a full dose of Stevie, it was awesome!!

Steve is great. He sounds a bit more "slow" this season than last season.

huh?
