Yeah, the hair was interesting. When did they finish shooting for this season? Has it really been enough time for her hair to grow that much?

I'm thinking it must be a wig or a weave since the timing seems off to me.

Whatever it is she looks damn good in it. Personally I preferred the slightly harsher more angular look of season 1 rather than the softer look of season 2. But this is my new favorite look for Stana.

However, there's never any excuse for ruining the felt on a pool table. That is totally unacceptable behavior.

I guess the full version was aired last night during DWTS, but I must have missed it. Looks like Stana grew her hair out. Enjoy.

Thanks, I enjoyed that.

She is definitely a "hot" detective. Come to think of it, I like all the women on this show. They are really beautiful (mom, daughter, detective, doctor). Funny, all the men on the show look like us (average "Joes"). I wonder what the producers are trying to tell us?

I personally know several women that disagree with your assessment of Nathan Fillion as an "average Joe"...

Great two-episode arc.

Regarding the commerical, Stana Katic has a lot of Penelope Cruz going on in it. And that's not a bad thing.

I will have to say, that for the most part, this show has been a refreshing change from most procedurals in that it is more about the cops working to solve the cases rather than massive OMG technology that does not really exist like lots of other shows. I was willing to overlook the FBI and their "smart boards" (which are a real thing and not what they used BTW) for this special episode. Hopefully they do not get too into that kinds of stuff in the future.

Great two parter though and I;m super happy they renewed it.

One of Becket's detectives mentioned at the end of the second episode if they were going to get the high-tech technology the FBI used. Becket said the white board was good enough for them. I guess that's the writers way of saying they will stick with their technique and leave the "gee-wiz" tech to CSI Miami.

Why spend the money when you don't have to. It doesn't add to the storyline.

Would like to see the full version of this one.

Actually what the link shows is the best part. After than Castle wakes up in the middle of a crime scene(centered around the pool table). I agree, Stana looked quite nice in that clip.

Granted the edited clip had the best part but still was worth seeing it in it's entirety.

Stana Katic is indeed gorgeous. When she is dressed in provocative clothing, as she was in most of the YouTube clip, she is nearly unbelievable, but she couldn't be made to look bad if they dressed her in a sackcloth.

"I was aiming at his head."

Another nice little homage to Firefly.

I like the FBI's high tech in so far as it gives something for Castle to be like the little boy in the toy store.

Glad to see this wasn't the season finale.

I heard that, but didn;t Castle then go on to mention buying one of those for the Department. Lets hope the writers do stick to the shows roots.

Not a big time fan of Castle, but I do have to say I don't think there's a show on TV right now that's on as strong of an upswing.

The show's writers have found their tone. They've become very comfortable with Nathan Fillion's sense of humor -- something other efforts since Firefly haven't gotten right at all. While there's not a ton of chemistry between Stana Katic and Fillion, that seems to work to the shows advantage, since every show now feels the need to resolve the unresolved sexual tension.

It's still pretty much the last new episode I watch every week, but I'll give Castle the points for trying to ride the curve and become a much better show.

I thought the last episode was just OK. A definite step down from the two-parter with Dana Delaney.

For some reason, this show seems to be much more popular with women than men. The Castle fan sites are dominated by women who obsess over this show and watch each episode multiple times.

IMHO, Castle is deliberately very similar to J.D. Robb's ... in Death books, so it's no surprise that there's a large female fan base for Castle.

For those not familiar with J.D. Robb, it's actually a pseudonym for Nora Roberts the Romance novelist. In her ... in Death series Homide Detective Dallas Eve marries an uber-rich reformed criminal mastermind who uses his skills to help her solve her cases. The mystery generally gets the lion share of the story but with generous helpings of humor and romance on the side.

And there's lots of other parallels. Dallas is tough and no-nonsense and has a mysterious past and no parents. O'Roarke is charming and witty. The murders are almost always serial killings. I'm sure I'm missing a bunch of other parallels.

I have liked Castle far better than I liked the few In Death books I have read. I didn't like the futuristic scifi stuff and the relationship between Dallas and Rourke had a very chick lit feel to me. The best part of Castle is the simultaneous tension and attraction between Castle and Beckett. I think that both Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic are wonderful and Katic, to say the least, is not bad looking. The show frequently makes me laugh out loud and this week's episode was no exception.

That line cracked me up. He was just like a little kid, and the look on Beckett's face was great. Castle has a completely immature side to him, and she knows she has to just deal with that sometimes.

Oh, you just KNOW truth be told that's one of his more endearing qualities to her.
One of his more UNendearing qualities was the line about "If something happens to me I want you to care for Alexa," which he quickly followed up with "Make sure she doesn't find my porn collection in my closet."

Which is exactly what drives the plot in most romance novels. In fact, that's often the only thing driving the plot in bad romance novels.

You are right that the simultaneous tension and attraction written into the Castle-Beckett relationship is the kind of thing that is common fodder in romance novels. That was why I complimented Fillion and Katic for the jobs they do. They are so skillful and charismatic, they raise the level of their material, which in less skilled and charming hands might just be filmed chick lit.

I'm a big fan of the show; have been since episode 1. IMO it's gotten better since the beginning. I was glad to hear they've been renewed for another season. I like the way Castle and Beckett relate to one another now, more so than earlier on. It's kind of a Moonlighting-type thing...as long as the writers keep things much as they are now, that is. (What killed Moonlighting IMO was when David and Maddy became a couple.)

I don't watch each episode multiple times...but I confess if there is a re-run of it on, I will watch it anyway (even if I'd just seen it only a couple of months ago). Also am planning on getting the season 1 DVD set when it's released in September. I only do that with shows I really enjoy.
