Well, the writers succeeded in driving my wife away from enjoying the show with The Dude Ranch Episode. She's been fuming at the dumb plots for a while now, and this one jumped the shark for her. Can't say I blame her.

(I theorize that the writers are fresh out of high school. The actors deserve better.)

Someone was on top of things - they made sure Kate had her bullet wound scar in the final scene.

Love the show but I couldn't make it through this episode. Enough with the gimmicks. Let's get back to solving crimes (with humor).

Except that, if you'll recall, after Kate got shot the surgeons had to crack her whole chest open to massage her heart. She should have a huge vertical scar, not just an itty bitty little round one where the bullet went in.

Fewer opportunities for gratuitous cleavage shots with something like that, of course.

I firmly believe that things will improve.

I loved the dude ranch episode. It showed off both Fillion and Katic at their charming best. Fillion's scene in the bar with the dude ranch owner who turned out to be the killer was a hoot. His schtick as a funny but frightened fellow reminded me of some of what Bob Hope did in his heyday. There is not a serious bone in the show's body but that's how I like it.
