If I recall, most of the crews of these boats were looking fto make something like $15K-60K ea, for the short season of fishing, depending on the boat.
I would imagine most "regular" cast members are easily making that just for being filmed & on the episodes, Catching the $$ crabs is extra "icing-on-the-cake" for them....

I don't know if there is enough money out there to get me to do what these guys do. They deserve everything that they get. I think Sig's boat brings in the most with their catch if I remember correctly

I kind of figured that but most people have no idea how the price of fish is set. I spent 15 years in the Seafood business and found many things in it to be just amazing.

The previews of the season have me really thinking, it appears something really bad might happen with the Wizard.

Yeah...it seemed like the engine room was flooding, USCG helicopter called....were those shots of the Wizard or of some other boat in the fleet?

Also the captain getting injured at the end of tonight's episode...looks like a rough season.

Found this on wikipedia: Katmai A head and gut fishing vessel capsized and sank in the Aleutian Islands early in the morning on Wednesday, October 22, 2008. Only four of the 11 crew members were saved. 5
The Katmai sank during season 5...that must be the ship that they refer to in the promos for this season. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deadlie...dded_film_crew

Considering the conditions they film in, I find DC's picture quality to be pretty superb. Although the first episode was shot in mostly good weather conditions. It will surely get worse as the weather gets worse. As for Rescue Me, I think the video style it is shot in lends itself to not be a stellar looking in HD. I don't think they are really going for that.
