Yep, glad to see it back. Even the worst of Mythbusters is at least moderately interesting, it's a reliable show for me.

The good thing about this run is that they've gone back to basic busting and not all that stupid show tie-in stuff.

Well, okay, BUT, bobbing for apples? Really? At least the "B" team didn't play us the entire commercial for the tennis match myth.

I though the bungie cord apple bob was fine, good example of a myth that was out there to be tested. Didn't have a problem with the tennis volley either.

Again, this stuff is what they do and is way better than trying to see how many fake zombies they can 'kill' just because AMC wanted a tie-in.

Really enjoyed the last couple of episodes. The traffic myths were great. I've always heard about the "butterfly effect" and wondered if those idiots weaving in and out of traffic really ever got anywhere.

I also liked the ones studying subconscious reactions to sexuality. Interesting stuff and both episodes had several laughs. They need more of these. Big booms are great, but give us some actual myths rather than movie/tv tie-ins.

I loved it that the women tipped DD Kari 40% more and the men only 30 % more.

So they announced tonight that Grant, Kari and Tory will not be returning next season. WTF? Not happy about this. Discovery is really going down the tubes.

If this is just the three of them deciding to move on to something new, then fine. If this is someone's boneheaded idea of a reboot, then I will be seriously pissed off. I always figured Jamie and Adam would leave and the junior Mythbusters would take over. Those three really made the show work. Adam and Jamie are cool, but the personality and skills Tori, Grant and Kari brought to the table are really important.

I guess they didn't say why, but these guys (and gal) are interchangeable to me. This isn't the first time they've swapped out the triple-A ballplayers.

I'd be more concerned about the ridiculous show/movie tie-ins, and the stupid tweeting distraction that takes up the bottom of the screen with the logos and snipes.

I don't remember if it was the discovery or mythbusters announcement, but they said that they want to go in a different direction with the show. It wasn't Kari, Grant, and Tori's decision, although you never know what's happening behind the scenes with contract negotiations and all.

Sort of...but not really. The show started out with just Jamie and Adam, then added Kari, Tory, and Scottie in 2004. Scottie lasted one season, and was replaced by Grant in 2005. So, it's been Kari, Tory, and Grant since 2005 (with Kari and Tory being together since 2004). They briefly added a fourth (Jessi), for a single season.

For me, the trio of Kari, Tory, and Grant have become every bit as important as Jamie and Adam. Jamie and Adam only did the show with the two of them for a single season. So, we've had 10 years of the team approach.

If I had to guess, I'd say it was budget cuts. Kari's posts on FB were very short/terse. Seems like it came as a bit of a surprise.

I’m not that bothered by this announcement. The younger trio too often seemed to be more interested in blowing things up than in the hard science. Jamie and Adam have always been the heart of the show.

I couldn't agree more. Not that Mythbusters is ever a hard-core science/statistics show, but the junior team seemed to put far less effort into it. I think Jamie and Adam do a better job in front of the camera as well - the Myth setup portion with K/T/G was always pretty painful to watch, for me.

In the older episodes they actually showed something of the builds, not just fast-forward/montage crap. If they go back to that it will be an improvement.

This smells of a cost-cutting move by Discovery, maybe due to falling ratings? I have no real issue with it IF they truly stick to their roots as they said, Jamie and Adam always had the best stuff.

I enjoyed the show last night for the most part. Few too many number 2 jokes though. I like that they are getting back to showing more of the build process and a little more science insight. I do miss grant, kari, and tori (in that order).

Yes, I think they are making a concerted effort to move the show back to its roots and it's been much better so far.

So to me it looked like they went about the first myth (wooden canon) all wrong. In the A-team show footage there was a large tank connected to the wooden barrels. Seemed more like they were "air" canons, than explosive propane powered canons.

Nope. The firing of each projectile had flames coming out with it. Something that would not happen with compressed air.

I didn't see flames, just smoke/condensation, but I may have missed it.
