NBC renews 'Parks and Recreation' for season 6
By Alan Sepinwall Thursday, May 9, 2013 3:57 PM

"Parks and Recreation" is getting a sixth season.

It's not a surprise, given the state of NBC's other comedies — "Parks" is the network's highest-rated sitcom after "The Office," which is ending in a week — but nothing was certain until the network said it. According to a source close to the production, the renewal is now official, though other details — timeslot and number of episodes to be produced — will be figured out later. (NBC's fall schedule will be announced on Sunday afternoon.)

When I inteviewed "Parks" co-creator Mike Schur about the finale, he said he was "fairly confident" in renewal, and had written the finale more to set things up for a sixth season than to act as a de facto series finale, in the way he has so many times in the past. It appears he was right to feel that way.

Thanks, I've learned to love this show.

Eve: I thought I was through getting involved with men who were trouble. Falling in love on a look. I can't look at you.

Mickey: You have perfection about you. Your eyes have music. Your heart's the best part of your body. And when you move, every man, woman and child is forced to watch.

Rashida Jones and Rob Lowe will be leaving the show, but will be around for the first 13 episodes.

Wth... I tuned in because I heard Tatiana Maslany would be on the show... Wtf was she? Well, at any rate this show still sucks... :/

Nice to see Ben Schwartz and Rashida Jose though.

Good season opener. I am eager to see just where things will go this season with Leslie's recall and the various other storyline arcs.

Not a great episode, but at least they have scratched off another House of Lies cast member of the crossover scoreboard.

Poor Larry, or Jerry, or Garry.

Sam Elliott as Eagleton Ron was a brilliant idea. Chris' celebratory lunges were hilarious.

I hope we get more of Sam Elliott. Ron Dunn was a delight and I certainly got a feeling there's quite a bit more they can do with that character.

I'd love it if Elliott and Selleck did another Sacketts film or mini-series.

A fantastic couple of episodes.

I'm with Ben, in that women in skates can be quite an attractive sight to behold.

LOL. I'm not sure that would be worth your time, but it would be fun to watch unfold.
