'Warehouse 13' renewed for fourth season
By James Hibberd, EW.com's 'Inside TV' Blog - August 11th, 2011

EXCLUSIVE: Now here’s some sunny Syfy news: Warehouse 13 just got renewed for a fourth season.

Syfy will bring back the show for another 13 episodes in 2012. The renewal isn’t at all surprising considering the show was up 15 percent during its third season among adults 18-49 for its first couple episodes this summer, with the first five episodes averaging 3.2 million viewers once you include DVR data.

“Under executive producer Jack Kenny’s leadership, this superlative team of writers, cast, and crew continue to turn out a series that only gets better and better with every episode,” said Syfy president of original content Mark Stern. “Warehouse 13 is deservedly the most popular series in our history and we’re delighted to renew it for a fourth season.”

This season saw Aaron Ashmore join the cast and a few weeks ago Kenny promised at Comic-Con that an “earth-shattering twist” was coming up this season.

Very good, I really wish they would up the episode count to around 16 or so, but still glad it's coming back. With Eureka bowing out, I at least hope we get the HG spinoff.

How does she get off the ground with those things?
They're wings.
Yeah, the wings probably help.

I wouldn't say it was just "Gamesters" music (I think they've used it in other episodes), but it was a hoot to for them to use ST:TOS theme/background music! I think I replayed that segment four or five times just for that music during the sword fight.

Another reason to love this show and be sad when a season comes to an end at the end of the summer.

Clearly Fargo used the ST: TOS music, programming it into his game. It was amusing.

I think that piece of ST music was also used in "Amok Time", the episode where Spock goes pon farr and winds up fighting Kirk.

Yeah - my first thought too (think they may have used it in a few other episodes). But, still was great.

Both episodes popped into my head, but I couldn't remember which was correct.

That is what I immediately thought of. It was a fun episode. When I saw Eddie McClintock at Shore Leave (near Baltimore last month) he mentioned how each episode was going to different than the preceding ones and it looks like they are indeed doing that.

Agreed. I'd rather they develop her character more, and get rid of Jinxy (sp?). He was an unnecessary addition this season, IMO.

...And wasn't Joanne Kelly stunning when the entered the game as a "Dominatrix"?

They add Jinks the beginning of the season, and now, they've added a dog to the cast. Wonder if he gets a credit?

And they blew my theory that Jinx had already become suspicious of "FBI" lady... by having him be surprised at the revelation last night.

What do you all think about the dual cases going on nearly every week, last night Myka and Pete on the old partner thing and Jinx and Claude on an unrelated quest.

I'm still on the fence, but I think I like it better when the whole crew is concentrating on a main case, I don't hate the dual case thing, but I think I like the whole crew involved and interacting. Just my thoughts.

Totally unrelated to anything, but I much prefer the Joanne Kelly in the flashbacks, don't like her flat hair - she was hotter before.

I'm in the other camp, I like her new look, she's always been good looking, but I'm liking her looks this season better than past seasons.

I like her new look as well. She is pretty either way though. I think her old look was more "cute" and this look is more "sexy ".

I was noticing this myself... On the one hand, it feels like less of a story when you get two half-stories concurrently instead of one whole story...

But on the other, it breaks up the monotony AND allows them to do stories that they would otherwise have to pad to fill an episode anyway.

Like the doorknob story with Claudia and Jinx... that really wouldn't fit the bill for a major story for a whole episode... but as a side story it works and allows them to advance the season arc at the same time.

Yeah baby!  It's Halloween!

Two things that pop into my head from time to time...

#1... On Eureka they long ago dropped a plot about an "artifact" from before they had the Warehouse 13 crossover. There was an alien artifact and it caused some trouble in Eureka before they moved to other plots... I wonder if that could be revisited at some point by the Warehouse team?

#2. Before Warehouse 13, we had the mini-series "The Lost Room" which had to be some partial inspiration for this show, because there are similarities. I liked that mini-series and it was why I gave Warehouse 13 a shot. I wonder, since both are Syfy shows, if there is any way those might be tied together as well in a future episode?

Yeah baby!  It's Halloween!

Yea Lost Room was one of the most underrated mini series I have ever seen. It was just way to high concept for syfy. It was more on the level of a good sci fi novel. I like warehouse 13 a lot but it really is a " dumbed down" version of "The Lost Room".

Is anyone else feeling that Warehouse 13 is trending too "silly" this year? I like light, and I like whimsical. Eureka does that well, but Eureka manages to do it without becoming silly. The whole Fringe-like cartoon episode week before last left me cold. Of course, the Fringe cartoon episode left me cold, too, but it worked better than the W13 one. Maybe it's just me. It doesn't get much sillier than Claudia's excessive drooling, but I thought that was a riot. But Myka-lite is not working very well for me. And Pete-liter has lost any gravity at all. It feels like the show is about to float away in a frivolity filled balloon.
