Has anybody noticed that for the last few weeks, Craig's show has been broadcasting in about half the HD resolution as normal? It looks like an 1080i interlacing problem, only one field is displaying. At a glance the image looks fine, but the jaggies can be easily seen. I think it originates from the show's production, or during transmission of just The Late Late Show, because Letterman looks fine, all the commercials look okay, and the superimposed CBS logo even looks fine, the problem is only Craig's show content. I'm watching on Cox Cable in Phoenix AZ.

Can't say that I have, but the past 2 weeks or have been taped / reruns, just figured it's worth a mention.

I caught a few minutes the other day and noticed it looked soft... more so than I remember although with the repeats it's been a while.

It looks fine, and normal, to me, although I didn't watch any of the reruns over the last couple of weeks. (Comcast Philadelphia)

True - they were not repeats, but were pre-taped about two weeks ago. Either way, looking forward to seeing the show Sunday night.

Are you guys still getting a sub par picture on Craig's show? If so it must be something in how you get the signal because for me it looks as pristine as usual, sharp as a tack and no jaggies smile.gif
Rashida sure looked hot last night, HD the way it was meant to be cool.gif

CBS News preempted our dear Creeg a couple nights ago about that fertilizer refinery explosion. That could've waited til morning. At least it was during a guest that I didn't particularly like, but still.... They really don't give a crap about him, apparently....

Now in Tucson, AZ with a cheap rabbit ears antenna in the east window at a height of 40 ft off the ground (3rd floor apt with VERY high celings). Got everything except FOX. :-/

Okay, this is weird. Here in CT the show this week with Zach Galifianakis and Andrea Riseborough only ran 42 minutes. Did this happen nationally or only here?

If you YouTube complete episodes (without commercials), you'll be lucky if the show hits 40 minutes. Stupid boner pill commercials.....

Drew Carey and Craig switched shows for april fools. Almost everyone on the price is right won including two people winning cars. I seriously doubt they'll allow Craig back. LMAO.

I am a great admirer of Craig Ferguson. Both of his books are worth reading (the novel reads like a mainstream Terry Pratchett); his standup is unique; his talk show really did stretch the limits of the format. He's quick, funny, well-informed, and enormously bright.

But it's been clear for a year or more that he's growing weary of the grind, and I'm not at all surprised by this announcement.

I can only hope that he continues to do work that we can all have an opportunity to enjoy.

Darn. I really enjoy the show.

Ferguson is working on several projects, including hosting a syndicated game show,Celebrity Name Game, that is scheduled to premiere in the fall.

Perhaps he took the payout from not getting The Late Show and decided to walk. I hope it was his decision... but sounds like CBS was shopping.

CBS last summer approached Oliver about taking Ferguson's slot, before he signed with HBO.

This was the only late night show I watched and that was mainly due to Craig's style. I hope whoever replaces him continues to shake things up. If it's just "like every other late night show" that'll be a shame.

I'm also going to miss Geoff Peterson. Hopefully they get someone good, esp. since Seth Myers' show opposite this is an absolute dud IMO.

This article (link tweeted by Craig) gives a bit more insight, the decision was made (according to Craig) months ago, which could explain why CBS was actively shopping his timeslot.

I wonder if Letterman/World-Wide-Pants is bowing out of late-night altogether. Graig actually works for WWP ... not CBS per se. Could be a factor.

Via his announcement on the show last night he was ready to go two years ago. That's when CBS gave him the new studio, etc. Plus, as he stated it was solely his decision to leave and he knows it won't come across as such via the Internet and other reliable sources. :) He even asked fans not to blame anyone (complain to, etc).

I'm peppering this thought in as many places as I can on the Internet tubes in hopes someone at CBS picks up on the idea... Ferguson's replacement should be Amy Sedaris. End of story.
