James Corden was also in the West End production and film of "The History Boys", co-wrote and starred in the popular BBC sitcom "Gavin and Stacey", and presents a long-running sports game show on Sky in the UK called "A League of Their Own". He's also been in "The Wrong Mans" a BBC/Hulu co-pro which he also co-wrote I believe.

He also starred in the original West End and Broadway productions of "One Man, Two Guvnors" which he won a Tony for.

He's quite a big name in the UK, though he's a polarising character. One of the common Twitter and Facebook themes in the UK on the announcement he was replacing Craig was "Hurray, he won't be on UK screens any more"...

Ferguson appears headed to early-evening talk show

The Late Late Show host, who is scheduled to leave that gig in December, is near a deal with Tribune Media to host a syndicated, early-evening talk show, according to a Friday report in Variety.

"The half-hour, weekday talk show would be designed to run in the 7 p.m. ET/PT time slot on Tribune's 42 stations, with plans to distribute it to other stations, according to details of the arrangement in the Variety story."

What does the above quote(from the above link) mean? What are these "42 stations" are they talking about the cable channel TBS, other cable channels or OTA channels
I wouldn't mind being able to still catch Craig but I don't have a HD cable connection(only OTA HD) and IMO Craig in analog SD just wouldn't be the same.

The plan is to use the show in the local programming slots, taking the place of some of those syndicated sitcom reruns.

I'm sure if it works out they can sell it elsewhere or drop it onto a cablenet. WGN is fairly widespread and in need of programming now they have started trying to make their own.

That's just a rumor. CBS hasn't announced anything yet.

Good to see Kristen Bell on the list. I was afraid after their week in Paris there were some hard feelings since I don't recall seeing her on the show since that time. Leno seems like an odd choice to close out with, thought it might be Morgan Freeman.

Hope Josh Robert Thompson gets to come out and take a bow. Horse guys too, for that matter.

What happened in Paris with Kristen Bell that there would be hard feelings?

Nothing that I'm aware of. It just seems like it's been a long time between program appearances for someone who is a friend of the show. Nothing more.

She's been on at least twice since Paris; last time was in March, promoting the VM movie.

They had talked about "Re-animating" Geoff Petersen a while ago, so hopefully that is still the plan.

So Long Craig

I am gonna miss this show. I've watched it from the beginning.
It started out rough, but over the years it grew, and had some good
bits throughout the years. Some good some not so good.

Cup of Tea and a Chat
Craig's Sound effects machine.
Green Screen quick costume change
Late Night With Prince Charles
Angela Lansbury - Has there been a murder?
The closing seconds of guests time (Mouth Organ/Awkward Pause)
The comedian who played the CBS executive that stood next to Michael.
Geoff Peterson/Secretariat
Liza & Tuyen dancing between guests.
Puppets especially Sid the foul mouth rabbit.
Michael Caine In Space
Christmas With Kraftwerk
1 ding German 2 dings we are still German...
Tweets & Emails

Oh yea, can we see a picture of Paul McCartney Please

Then there were some memorable moments
Shatner Riding Craig
Tom Hanks Riding Secretariat
Craigs tough night back after his father died.

Thanks for the 10 years of entertainment Craig

Josh Robert Thompson as Geoff the robot is hands-down the funniest sidekick in late night history. The banter between those two was great. Two shows that made me laugh so hard my stomach was cramping was:

1) Geoff drunk. There were two of these I think.

2) There were a few days where Josh Robert Thompson was out so they had the idea of celebrities doing the voice in his absence. The night Larry King filled in was absolutely hysterical. Larry's 'Geoff' didn't know when to stop talking and Craig was equal parts tickled and exasperated.

Craig Ferguson has a brilliant mind, and can shift gears to match the interests and capabilities of any guest. He's knowledgeable in a wide range of topics, and creative on levels that often don't reveal themselves on TV. His novel and memoir show that -- if he were to concentrate on it -- he could be a great writer. His standup is natural and sophisticated and (so rare) genuine. He has some musical talent, clearly, and can act, too.

It's amazing that he stayed with a network talk show this long. I still don't get why he messes with that silly game show, other than that he probably only works one day a week and gets paid enough to support his family for it.

I will miss CF's Late Late Show more than I can say. I very much look forward to seeing what he does in the future.

I enjoyed the musical salute quite a bit. Overall I found the last two weeks a bit different. In as Craig basically played it straight although at times you could tell he wasn't taking it quite as serious... not that he ever has. I came to his show rather late (last several years) and I'll miss him. I guess his new talk show is a go based on his comments. Last I heard it was going to be a 30-minute show much in the same format for the same company/network his game show airs on?

I'm not sure how well a 30-minute show will do (for me) so I have little faith I'll find it nearly as entertaining. He was a rare bird as a talk show host... and his replacement appears to be as well. Let's hope he takes the same approach. However I'm pretty shocked CBS even went his way and it might get interesting.

The in studio rendition was better...

Man, that King/Geoff bit had me laughing so hard!!!! It's on YT.

I do wish someone would showcase JRT somewhere - he was/is so funny. Love the phone calls.

Ferguson was the best. Seemed like Leno was a little buzzed up. I would have rather had the whole hour without a guest and just had Ferguson, Geoff and Secretariat.

Agree that they did not need a guest but it would have been funnier to have had Craig Kilborn on if for no other reason than to advise CF what NOT to do after leaving.

I'm going to miss the show too but I think Craig was phoning it in a bit the last couple of months. I started watching irregularly about 5 years ago and am glad I got the chance to see a couple of his shows in person when I was in LA a few years back, he is also wickedly funny when the cameras aren't rolling. I will probably never watch another late night talk show, I had completely given up on them ever since Letterman sold out by going to CBS except for when I saw a few minutes of Craig and liked it.
