The only other news anchor bit I got that same sort of kick out of was with the Floyd Robertson/Earl Cannonbear pairing on SCTV.

The competitiveness among those in the news industry is legendary, and they both did a hilarious job of spoofing it mercilessly.

you are correct my friend. the early cast and shows remain my all time
favorites.

remember belushi having spazz attacks when he would do bits on the news

my personal favorite was when he talked about march coming in like a lion and leaves like a lamb.

I was shocked as well. The concept is so utterly ridiculous, I don't know how that's even possible, but critics are typically tough to please so I'm curious.

I hope the best for him. It seems he makes the best of bad material. Probably could have been even more successful had he gotten half of Kristen Wiig's exposure.

If he were the only male actor on the show, like Kristen was the only female for a while, then maybe he would have had the exposure.

Personally, I miss the fact that Seth Myers bowed out of acting in favor of writing. He always had good characters.

Too bad.

SNL won't be the same without him. He will be missed, I really enjoyed
his characters

I think that this is for the best most of the bits he did were reused to death and frankly were rather boring.

You can never judge a show by its pilot episode or the half season following it.
