Maybe they were doing it to just refresh everyones mind or the episode was actually about what the new owners are getting!

Michael Scott is now the most senior man left at D-M!

I thought the episode worked very well on both counts and came at a good time.

I loved everything about tonight's episode. It was both funny and a shame to see David Wallace in his reduced state.

By the way, it looks to be the first episode directed by John Krasinski.

Nothing like spending time with the unemployed to appreciate the job you have.

This was one of the better ones I have seen in a while.

Very surprising. My experience is that whenever upper management types lose their jobs, they get a big fat check, their phone rings and they always manage to find another comparable job within days through their buddy network. Companies can lay off a thousand people and in the same week hire a new Vice President of something or other for no good reason.

Maybe the Dunder-Mifflin financial scandals have tainted poor David!

And what has happened to Dwight's plan to destroy Jim?

Erin is very cute. She's a good singer too.

Funny episode.

My wife and I have been on a "The Office" blitz since Christmas finishing up Season 4 then going through 5 and now caught up to 6.

And to think, Michael passed on the golden opportunity to bring Suck It to market! The product already has a theme song, how can it fail!?

I loved the looks and comments from David's wife. "I saw you have shoes on so didn't know if you did anything..."

And when David was asked how much time he has: "I have a doctor's appointment... next Thursday." HA!

It was never implied that he was even looking for a job. Maybe he had never had free time like this before and cracked. Plus, the management at DM has had a lot of scandals and was run into the ground several times. Who's to say anyone wanted to hire him.

Looked like to me David has become a member of the "discouraged workers" statistic. It made the whole episode that much more poignant, how the mighty have fallen, etc. I am retired and I know I spend a great deal of time just kicking around the house.

Kathy Bates promises a great deal, with or without legirons and a sledgehammer.

Here's my thoughts on this last episode. So, were Phylis's farts intentional, to drive Michael away? Or does everyone get to enjoy that smell on a regular basis?

I was kind of disappointed in Dwight and Ryan's plans to take down Jim. They didn't do anything! But I did enjoy the Saw and Lord of the Rings references.

I have a suspicion that Kathy Bates' character, and the 1 guy working for her, make up the entire Sabre company. I also have a feeling that these new Sabre printers from Korea, are going to be really crappy printers.

...in this country. They probably have their R&D in South Korea, their manufacturing in Indonesian sweat shop factories and their technical support in India.

I liked it.
I had tons of audio/video drop outs. (Indoor OTA + Storm)
Watching the episode wasn't fun.

Erin is really whacked. The Erin/Nard Dog stand off is like the old Pam/Jim stand off of course.

I love the way Dwight handled Jo when she came in. "I'm not standing like I wouldn't for a man". She thought that was well played and he was very proud of himself.

Jo is a lot funnier than David Wallace ever was. He was always supposed to be the straight guy, I guess.

The episode missed a good one liner from Creed.

I really liked David Wallace as the straight guy. He was exactly the kind of corporate executive who has to deal with a childish employee who he can't fire. He also generally liked Michael for the same reasons I do so he was easy to relate to.

Same thing with Jan initially.

Am I the only one that is going to miss Dunder-Mifflin? The company name had a pop culture thing to it, and you saw people wearing shirts.

I don't believe the name is going away. It is just going to be known as a subsidiary of Sabre which no one cares about anyway!

Yeah, even Jo admits no one has heard of her company while Dunder-Mifflin is well-known, especially after all those financial scandals before they were bought.

yeah but they won't be dunder-mifflin any more. maybe there will be some development with the Michael Scott Paper Company forming again, and then they will buy out whatever is left over of dunder-mifflin.

Agreed. Watching the older shows where David is dealing with Michael is pretty comical.

Wasn't that big a fan of making him look like a mess

This week's was pretty much a filler anyways. Next week's is the big episode.

XBOX Live: Wagmman
PSN: Wagg
BFBC2: Wagman
Steam: Wag

My Second Life character looks and acts exactly like me except he can fly.

My favorite moment was during "Deposition" when they read back Wallace's testimony about Michael getting the job in New York. He testified "What do you what me to say? He's a nice guy," but then had to admit that he wasn't a serious candidate for the position.

The sad look on Wallace's face when they read that back in front of Michael was perfect. He really liked Michael and was sorry that he had to admit that he didn't believe he was upper-management material.
