No clue, to me it sounded like they were talking about a guy named Cole, but it easily could of been using Coal digger.

How about the bigger error of why a college football game was on the afternoon/evening of a school/weekday?

Still a funny show though.

It happens 3 times a week....ESPN has games on Wed, Thur. and Fri. If they are in Cali....and its a East coast game @7pm EST, its only 4pm in Cali.

Speaking of football...."My name's Al Bundy and I scored four touchdowns in one game while I was in high school". I keep expecting them to somehow work a variant of that into this show just for a laugh for those remember Married With Children. Anyway, its an OK show (Sofia Viagra helps ;-) but the shakeycam gets a bit annoying at times.

However, not Big 10 games since they mentioned it was Illinois - Ohio State.

Maybe they were watching it on Al's DVR? Guess they missed a perfect "product placement" spot eh?

IIRC the footage they used said ESPN on it no?

I meant to mentoin the Big Ten thing as they never play on weeknights, but, living on the East Coast, I never thought about the fact that a 7:30 start here is 4:30 in Cali. D'oh. So, I guess plenty of games do start in the time frame they showed on the show, just not big Ten.

It wasn't annoying, just a little strange that the week before the kids are in school and they're watching football and this week it was the first day of school. Also the daughter was taking a lacrosse stick to school, around here lacrosse is a spring sport. Otherwise it was a good episode.

Same.

The whole scene in the doctor's office had me rolling.

Am I pronouncing that right? Pho? It's a soup...

I don't know. I'm from Denver. We don't have a lot of...Pho there.

LOL.

I was really surprised the poncho and "riding a burro" to school jokes got past the network execs. And when Jay stepped on Manny's flute - couldn't believe any of that made it to air either in this era of PC.

was that doctor vietnamese american? any vietnamese american, even from denver, would be tickled to meet someone who enjoys pho and can do a passable pronunciation of it. of course if she wasn't vietnamese, she had reason to be annoyed.

Well, she said she was from Denver and had no accent at all so I assume she was not too closely aligned with her ancestral culture.

I know plenty of Vn kids. they may speak with zero accent and have little knowledge of Vn language, culture, and history, but trust me, they know pho.

Hilarious episode last night! And a brilliant look at the head games people play with one another. Julie Bowen's face is a lesson in comic acting, as she tries to decide if she should acknowledge that she dressed up for the firemen coming to carry away her sick husband.

We'll never have Paris.

One of the best episodes this season, all around excellent and hilarous.

I'm a little surprised this show doesn't generate more talk. It's become one of the highlights of the week for me, and it just seems to get better and better. It reminds me a bit of Better Off Ted, but with far more warmth and humanity and far less kitsch.

Hahaha indeed, this is married with children 2.0...

- Al got a super job and earned 5 figure income
- He divorced Peggy
- Bud became a snob and gay
- Kelly married a real state agent

BTW when's the ex-wife coming into the picture, and who will play her? (Katey Sagal?) LOL

Didn't they already have his ex-wife on the show? IIRC, it was Shelley Long (Diane from Cheers) who got into fights with Sophia Viagra.

Yeah it was Shelley Long and her episode was about how inappropriate she was at the wedding for her ex hubby and Sofia Vergara's character. Hopefully she works into more episodes as they go along.

The wife and I really love this show, the funniest on TV right now by far, in my opinion. I love the cast of characters, the flow of the show, the eye candy, everything.

The fact that Al is back certainly helps, lol.

It kills me how people dissect the show and put it down, it's a freakin comedy.

Does anybody else remember Julie Bowen from Weeds?

She was the hot milf who got it on with the older son.
