THE HOUSE OF THE DEVIL is writer-director Ti West¹s 80s-period horror-thriller starring Jocelin Donahue (JT Petty¹s forthcoming THE BURROWERS), ³mumblecore² ingénue Greta Gerwig (HANNAH TAKES THE STAIRS, BAGHEAD), Tom Noonan (SNOW ANGELS, MANHUNTER), Mary Woronov (EATING RAOUL,
THE DEVIL¹S REJECTS), AJ Bowen (THE SIGNAL) and Dee Wallace (E.T., Rob Zombie¹s HALLOWEEN).

Donahue plays Sam, an attractive, broke college sophomore who answers an ad seeking a baby-sitter and ends up in a bloody fight for her life. Noonan and Woronov play Mr. and Mrs. Ulman, the couple that lures Sam into the house of the title just in time for a total lunar eclipse; Gerwig plays Sam¹s best friend Megan, while Bowen plays the Ulman¹s murderous son. Good line-up, thanks for the information.

mobgre 09-29-2009 02:58 PM

Thanks Time Warner. Not!!

rdgrimes 09-29-2009 03:10 PM

The Sea Inside is a must-see for Bardim fans, and anyone else who likes well-written drama.

tokerblue 09-29-2009 03:37 PM

Ong Bak 2 in HD? That's awesome. HDNet and HDNet movies are hands down my favorite channels. It will also be very nice to see Infernal Affairs in HD (The movie that The Departed was based on).

Keep up the great work!

And "On the Waterfront". Can't wait.

Another impressive lineup.

Skipdrive 09-30-2009 06:39 AM

Not everyone has a good option for switching from TWC; some of us are just stuck there (at least until FIOS gives us a viable alternative that includes broadband). The problem is these local monopolies cable companies are given. Sorry. But we really, really miss our HDNet's.

So, that said, can anyone from HDNet tell us whether negotiations are ongoing to get back on TWC systems, or is there no communication with them at present? We're doing all we can to help you, writing letters, calling, etc., but you have to let us know if any official negotiations are under weigh so we'll know if we're wasting our time. Trust us, no other jilted channel gets this kind of committed devotion. All we ask is to keep us here on AVS informed and give us an update on occasion.

Bluto17 09-30-2009 08:54 AM

That's a deep list of movies this month. Impressive.

Ditto what was said about The Sea Inside. That's normally not my type of movie, but was very good.

Stryker412 09-30-2009 09:02 AM

Whale Rider was a fantastic movie.

Joel Clemons 09-30-2009 11:55 AM

I assume that the DC version of BLADE RUNNER they are showing is not the recent "Final Cut."

"THX-1138" and "Blade Runner" look incredible in 1080i.

My only option is TW facing east in a apt condo. I would love to go sat.

HDNet isn't the only place you can see these movies. Netflix has them and a lot more.
