Of all the possible Ava scenarios I had in my head that wasn't one of them.

"Trust" was the right title. Failing that, I'd have been for "When Bad Things Happen To Bad People" as an alternative, q.v. Duffy, Boyd...

Ava's realized that the men around her can't and or won't take of her. So she's gonna take care of herself. Didn't see her shooting Boyd coming at all--not under those circumstances. He wasn't even seated for dinner!

Duffy! Hopefully he doesn't get killed. Mikey succumbed to Katherine's money (or loyalty.)

This week's episode was one of the show's most Elmore-esque. Ava's shooting Boyd, then drawing down on Raylan and driving off with Markham's $10 million was a classic example. Another was the way the creepy Boon intimidated both the counterman and his pretty customer in the diner. Boon is a classic Elmore Leonard bad guy: engaging, charismatic, and articulate but very dangerous and unpredictable. I love Boon because he is the most hatable character on the show now. All of that reflects Elmore to his core, I think.

Really looking forward to the final three episodes. The stage has been set for a bunch of good stuff.

Is anybody else not going to be shocked when Ava opens the bag and finds that vast majority of that sack is filled with blanks? Markham already knew Katherine had betrayed him, otherwise why would he have taken Raylan's bait with the phone call? Plus he knew Boyd would know he knew about the Charlotte "plan", so yet again, why on Earth would he fill the bag with his money? I was honestly surprised Boyd didn't have him dump the bag into the back so he could actually see all the stacks of cash. My gut tells me Ava finds this out the hard way next week, has burned ALL of her bridges, and is now REALLY jammed up with no funds to go anywhere.

Props to Limehouse...the guy knows when to set a limit of his involvement and doesn't chase the pipe dreams. He's obviously been a long-term "service" man for good reason...discipline. He was not interested in taking any shots at that carrot Boyd was dangling regarding going after Markham's stash. Very smart.

I don't usually catch the previews, but I couldn't help but hear the section with Art "coming after" Raylan. Can't imagine where that is going and why unless it is somehow related to Raylan and Boyd dealing with some consequence to Loretta. She is the ONLY thing that ties those two together, especially now that Ava is on both their sh*t-lists.

And poor Duffy. I don't get the impression he is long for this world. He shouldn't have made so much fun of Mikey I guess.

She missed from 5 feet! (see next week's preview). C'mon Ava, get real. But I suppose attempted murder by a convicted felon has less prison time than a murder 1. I'm enjoying all these relatively new bad guys - Kate, Boon, Markham - joining Mikey, Duffy, and Boyd and kind of expect Kate and Avery to live through it, Duffy, too. The others like Boon, Mikey, and Boyd are fair game. The last three episodes should be a kill fest.

Avery - Raylan diner scene was precious, especially Avery's line to Raylan about you're just here to eat ice cream.

It's sometimes those little scenes that endear. I especially loved the one with Loretta's grandma. The actress who played her was spot on and wonderful. Then Marham goes out to the car and says something to Boon like, "Does conscience in our profession bother you?" And Boon replies, "In our profession it's good to be too poor to have a conscience or so rich you can hire people to carry the burden," then walks off calmly and shoots grandma with two spaced and deliberate shots with Makham listening stoicly. EL to a tee.

As for the rest of show...never saw any of it coming...

Is Loretta set up now to be the one to finish off Markham?

I don't see Loretta as a killer. This show is too unpredictable to predict what is coming, just enjoy the ride.

Justified is going to classified as one of the great ones. It will be truly missed on my list of shows to watch. There is no honor among thief's and Boyd being the smart guy should have known better than to trust Ava. Desperate people do desperate acts.

These are just my opinions.

He's the kind of guy that gets in your face and relies on the threat of a gun. Someone is going to just clock him before he can draw.

Or as Raylan said to him: "Anybody tell you, you should talk less?"

The previews showed Boon with "the hat" on, so I am assuming the episode in the diner did not turn out well for the girl and her boyfriend. I'll bet we see the end of that mash to further encourage the audience' desire when he meets his end.
