I agree about Goggins; he's been brilliant. But he has the bad luck to be doing his brilliant work at the same time Aaron Paul is painting an unforgettable portrait of a man slowly losing his soul in 'Breaking Bad', and BB will be eligible again next year. Paul already has one, and the Emmy's love to pile award on award. The surest chance of winning multiple Emmy's is to just get that first one. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

Sorry Walter, but you have to hope 'Justified' keeps running after BB concludes, and then hope somebody doesn't jump your place in line. Hey, I don't make the rules.

Interesting that the three main ladies were cast in new series this fall. Martindale in A Gifted Man is the only steady one tho.

TV Notes
'Justified' casts Neal McDonough and Mykelti Williamson as season 3's baddies
By Mandi Bierly, EW.com's 'Inside TV' Blog - October 11th, 2011

EXCLUSIVE: Fans of FX's Justified have been wondering since May's second season finale how producers would match Margo Martindale's Emmy-winning performance as Mags Bennett.

Well, now we know: Desperate Housewives Neal McDonough and 24s Mykelti Williamson, who both starred on Justified EP Graham Yost's brilliant-but-canceled NBC drama Boomtown, have been cast as the awesomely named big bads of season 3. McDonough will recur as Quarles, a Detroit mobster in a sharp suit who comes to Kentucky with visions of becoming a crimelord. Williamson will play Limehouse, a man who lives in a small black town in Harlan County and who will do whatever it takes, legal or otherwise, to protect his holler.

We'll meet both characters early in season 3, which premieres in January. The show which also earned Emmy nominations for stars Timothy Olyphant and Walton Goggins and guest actor Jeremy Davies, who'll return began production on the first of 13 new episodes Monday.

I'm ready for some more Justified, too. Watched Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown last night. Tarantino's screenplay for Jackie Brown was based on the Elmore Leonard book, Rum Punch. I was reminded of just how much fun Leonard's stuff can be and how faithful Graham Yost, Justified's creator, and his writers have been to the master's style.

So ready to have this show return. Jeremy Davies returning is a huge plus. January can't get here soon enough to suit me.

Season 1 started mid March and season 2 started early to mid February so probably about 4 months away.

Look for a start in mid January. I don't know if they're going with Tuesday or Wednesday nights, but a January start date is certain.

Thanks for the posting.

January will be a good month for TV. Well, at least on Showtime
I'm looking forward to Shameless and Californication.

A hollow in Appalachia is what we all call a valley. But usually it's much smaller than the typical valley. My mom's side of the family is from the Shenandoah valley of VA so I grew up hearing about hollows all the time.

They pronounce it holler but it's really hollow.

I can't either .. but SOA is kicking some major butt this season ..

Oddball: Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

Of course "Southland" (TNT) returns the same date and time as "Justified" does. Good thing for DVR's.

Will she be Karen Sisko? That would make sense since she played the role in her own TV series.

That would be cool! Maybe they can license the name from ABC, or who ever has the rights to it.

I looked it up...she's going to be Karen Allen or something close. She was a senior Deputy Marshall who supervised Raylan in Miami...but, you know they made the beast with 2 backs, back in the day...for sure.
