All of you who loved this episode of Justified owe yourselves a favor: Start reading Elmore Leonard. The dentist's self help repossession of his patient's gold teeth and his car "swap" with the guy in the parking lot were classic examples of the skewed, good natured stuff Leonard does. I love this show, I just hope it lasts.

One of my favorite episodes, I wish they all were like this. I am really dissapointed they killed off the dentist. He could of been used again later. There was a great chemistry between the two of them and the slight humor was excellent.

is there any way to stream this show from the Internet? I'm out of town and forget to set my DVR.
Its' supposed to be on Comcast on Demand, but there's no way to watch full episodes.

I just looked on FX's website and it doesn't look like they put the full episodes there.

Seems it keeps dropping. Shame. I like the banter and lightheartedness mixed with the action.

Here is one writers view:
"FX's "Justified" on Tuesday night shed 9% of its audience from last week. The fourth episode of the neo-Western delivered 2.1 million viewers, having dropped with each episode. My take is that the show was promoted with a serious dramatic tone, which matched its pilot, plus it felt like a serialized show. Subsequent episodes have felt lighter, more comedic, more procedural -- less FX and more USA."

Well, Here's my Sig!!!

I have been told that the last half of the season is more serialized. They are trying to set some things up, but I think the tone has been consistent in the best Elmore Leonard tradition--likable, even funny, bad guys, with guns.

I think the show's major challenge is overcoming the location issue. It's a lot easier to fake Kentucky in Pennsylvania than California. The latter episodes have a difficult time re-creating the feel of the pilot, which was shot back east (except, or course, this last ep, which was supposed to be in Cali). I would think that restricts the storytelling somewhat to more interior locations.

Anybody know where we can find aggregate ratings for the whole week? I think they show it four times; it would be nice to know what the total numbers are.

I agree with that somewhat....but I have been enjoying it. I'm certainly not blown away like I was with other F/X shows like The Shield, Rescue Me, Sons of Anarchy, Nip/Tuck that sucked me in immediately.

I do like the main lead. Sounds just like Bill Paxton (always liked his voice).

Yeah, I think all of us who have read and loved Elmore Leonard's books have also loved Justified. The truth, though, is that Leonard is simply not for all tastes. He goes from having his articulate sociopaths engaging in humorous banter one minute, to somebody dying violently the next. It takes some getting used to and some never do.

By the way, I thought the funniest line in this week's show was delivered by the dentist's sweet young girlfriend and receptionist. As she and the dentist are running from the law she says to him, "You know, when I woke up I had a nice job, a nice car, and a nice boyfriend who was a dentist. Now, I'm on the run with a former drug kingpin." Wonderful stuff!

Huh? Getting used to? That’s a normal weekday for me….

All great stuff… This was the first western I can recall that was missing a horse… unless that muscle car counts-- with all those ponies…

True. Even the Elmore Leonard stories that are set in Detroit frequently seem like westerns.

Leonard hasn't published a book in a year so I am wondering whether he has finally decided to retire. He will be 85 this year. Despite his age, I hope that he's still writing.

FX Seeking More Mainstream Programs in Bid for Ad Dollars

FX, historically the home of dark and edgy programs such as "The Shield" and "Nip/Tuck," and more recently "Rescue Me" and "Damages," is seeking to add more mainstream shows to its program lineup in a bid for more viewers and advertising dollars, B&C reports.

The cable network will compare itself to cable leaders TNT, TBS and USA in its upfront pitch, highlighting some of its more mainstream programs such as the upcoming "Terriers" and "Lights Out," the report says.

"Terriers" focuses on two private investigators, while "Lights Out" follows a has-been boxer.

According to the article, " 'The landscape has changed a great deal since 'The Shield' launched. That was when we were really clamoring for attention, looking to break through,' Bruce Lefkowitz, executive VP of Fox Cable ad sales, says."

Looks like FX is changing it's "brand", less edgy programming for the future.

I would bet the ratings took another dip last night because the show got pushed from its normal 10 pm slot to 11 pm for a movie.

Are you sure your DVR just didn't record the second run (which is on at 11)? There were a few more conflicts than usual since Glee was pushed to an odd 9:30 - 10:30 timeslot to cash in on the AI crowd.

DVR picked it up starting at 11:02, but I thought I looked at the guide last night and Transporter was on til 11. Maybe I read the guide wrong since I was very tired. Weird though since the DVR has always picked up the 10 pm showing every other week, even though it is recording Justified and V at the same time.

Yep, Transporter was on from 8-10, and Justified was on at 10.

On at 10 in Philly.

Good episode. It feels like they're setting the table for a more serialized, character driven series of eps, which is what many early fans of the show have been waiting for.

My Fios DVR showed it at 11PM only as well. I clicked over at 10PM, saw it was on, and manually recorded.

My FIOS guide was screwed up. It had the Transporter movie listed for 8 to 11 and Justified for 11 to 11:02 and then at 11:02 to 12:02. I knew that had to be a mistake so I recorded the stupid movie anyway and then began watching about 10:30 sans commercials.

Good episode, with more layers revealed.

Yes-- but just be sure to check to see how long your 11pm recording is. My guide had the 11 time slot for two minutes long.
