Don't find her voice that pleasing.

She's annoying, but the visuals mostly overpower her. And there aren't many things that she can be overpowered by.

I'd prefer Sigourney Weaver or but Oprah hasn't been as bad as I expected.

I like that they don't stick to one thing for too long. That's a great technique. Just when you're not happy about watching an ostrich getting eaten they're already on to a seal getting devoured or a fly digested.

I don't like that they reuse footage from other episodes. This was also an annoyance with Planet Earth. They even reedited that thing and released it under another name as an abridged version. I got suckered into renting that with Netflix.

I hope there are no penguins in this thing. I'm sick of them.

Larry

I thought we were cool de la?

I found tonight's Nature on PBS to be a much better watch.

I've got one question for the group...the one thing that bothers me about this series. Are they making up the sounds or are those actual recordings taken while filming? They just sound a bit off...a little too perfect. Especially when little critters scooch across a rock or something. Feel like it is just a touch deceptive. /shrug

This really annoyed me last night. It made for a real short watch when I just fast forwarded thru all the stuff I had already seen.

I thought i was losing my mind when i got home from work and saw the episode "Hunters and the hunted". It looked like the episode "Primates" again. I almost deleted it from my HDD but after further viewing i could tell that it was actually a fifferent episode but with a huge amount of footage from "Primates". VERY DISAPOINTING!!!. I'll keep it tho' just to keep the whole series intact. I'll bet the brit. version is much better. G.

Foley artists are sometimes used, I believe. I think the same was done on the Planet Earth series.

I don't see why. Is it just the voice and the thought of the day time star?

I watched episode 1 so far. It wasn't anything spectacular. Just seems like any other Discovery, NatGeo, or Animal Planet show
I still enjoyed it.

Someone else said it in a previous post. They hate Oprah. Granted some watching don't care for the voice, but let's not BS each other. As "bad" as her voice is, I am sure the hatred for her is propelling the dislike of the narration even further. How do we know? Read the posts. They aren't just complaining about Oprah's voice, but stated or implied and changing her name to Oprey is more than obvious the person is hated and therefore even more so the voice for narration.

I've watched four of the episodes that I have recorded so far and I can't take it anymore. Oprah's delivery is just awful. I feel like I'm back in third grade in the 60's watching one of the old nature films they use to show us. It is like she is just reading the script and not watching what she is describing, no emotion at all. No more Life for me until I can find the UK version. This has nothing to do with overall like/dislike of Oprah, just performance.
