Watched "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" last night and could not help but think about Dany / Kings Landing / Dragons as the opening scene played out ..

Uncle Willie

Oddball: Why don't you knock it off with them negative waves? Why don't you dig how beautiful it is out here? Why don't you say something righteous and hopeful for a change?

I hope that the quality of this show doesn't decline the way that movie did after they run out of the author's material....

Yup. And that was one Dragon.

Now think of many Harrenhalls.

Have to say I'm liking some of the changes from the books.

Sansa becoming more and more of a hard a$$ and being thrown into the cauldron with the Boltons instead of throwing a weak substitute in. I have a feeling they and Littlefinger may have bitten off more than they can chew.

Skipping the subplot and going right to Jorah Mormont and Tyrion's denouement.

Not so bad.

I like the speed of the show. Good episode.

How long before Sansa starts getting even. I can't see the skinners becoming a real power in the north, what did that old women reminded Sansa of, The North Remembers. What did Jon say to Stannis, the northerns are a bit like the ones from north of the wall. I would not call the Nights Watch as northerns, Jon is one and winter is coming, and the Stark half of his blood is showing, when is his fathers blood (Targaryen) going to becoming apparent. I see Petyr Baelish undoing the Boltons in a big way, after all what did he say about the killings of the Starks at the Red wedding and having told his wife that the only woman he ever loved was Catelyn, as she went out the moon door. Littlefinger did reminder Bolton that the Vale is his, without mentioning Harrenhal, and does anyone think he will show Bolton what he writes back to Cersei Lannister. As for the Lannister's they are all off on a big adventure. I do like the Skinners rebuilding Winterfell for the next generation of the Kings of the North. And Winter is still Coming, Jon Stark Targaryen.

I agree that the independent direction the show is taking from the books this season is working really well. I have always loved the show but it seems to be at the top of its game lately.
