Looks like another great cop show. Premieres Tonight on ABC.

I'll give it a shot if only for Missy. Glad she is in a drama. In every show/movie I have seen her in and interview she has done, she has had no comedic timing to speak of.

I liked it and I'm really looking forward to the upcoming episodes. She definitely has a better character to work with than she did on Reaper (and I liked Reaper also).

I was surprised how much I liked the pilot. Definitely tuning in for more. I hope it doesn't get too "soapy," per se.

Looks like another cop show, great .

Fixed that for you.

If this show means Grey's Anatomy is off the air even for a little while, I already like it. Maybe I look at it on Saturday. I saw it listed, wondered what it was.

The show title immediately reminds me of The Rookies on ABC, some 35 years ago. I loved it as a kid, but it'd probably stink if I tried watching it today. I remember a joke that they were rookies for three years (seasons)

There's a 50/50% chance I'll stick with it, and I like Missy Peregrym. I read some reviews beforehand mentioning excessive clichés, but there are clichés within clichés. That"s are a bit disturbing.

The whole undercover cop handling was just bad, could it have been any more obvious?

I am a cop and so far this show seems more like Greys Anatomy with guns and a badge. Nowhere near what Southland has to offer.

It was painful to watch. I know they don't say where the city is but the 40 km/h sign in the early scene gives it away that it's not a US city.

Great clip by Craig Ferguson. One of the reasons TV shows stink these days.

When it comes to cop shows I'll stick to watching CHiPs. Now if they will release the rest of the seasons on DVD.

The Pilot intro featuring "Good Life" by One Republic, caught my attention.
I'll give it another week just for that.

I discover so many great new songs on TV shows, Just a few of the most recent ones.
  • "Take me back in Time" by Idlewild at the ending of Three Rivers (CBS) 6/19/10
  • "Crash And Burn" by Lifehouse at the ending of Castle (ABC) 5/10/10
  • "Heart of Gold" by You Say Party! We Say Die! at the ending of the forgotten (ABC) 3/9/10
  • "Goodbye Horses (21st Century Mix)" by Psyche (can't recall show)
  • "Show Me What I'm Looking For" by Carolina Liar (can't recall show)

It's a Canadian show (joint venture between Canwest and ABC) and was shot in Toronto. Originally, it was supposed to be called "Coppers".

I enjoyed the pilot! I may stick around for a few more episodes. It is kind of like Grey's Anatomy cop version but I don't care, as long as it doesn't get too sappy it is an ok summer show for me.

It's another of those "too scared to be Canada" shows for fear of driving away xenophobic audiences.

Does Flashpoint say it's Toronto? Pretty sure The Bridge doesn't say it either but it's obvious.

This show is TERRIBLE. I'd rather watch Women's Murder Club that Grey's Policery.

Hey, Women's Murder Club was a good show.

This, if it premiered during the regular season would stay on the air forever and no one would know why (like that dreadful bullcrap "Private Practice"). This show would air at 8pm on Thursday, making that the worst night of television in broadcast history.

Gotta agree with everyone here. I LOVE Missy, but this was bad. Saw the undercover cop a mile away. The only interesting thing was the standoff with the kid in the abandoned building and then they ended it with her talking the kid down. Total letdown. Couldnt she been like a real cop and tackled him?

Most cops would not have talked the kid down, they would have shot him.

Liked it. Reminds me of Hill Street Blues. Lots of characters so lots of potential for various story lines.

I just rented Season 2 disc 1 of CHiPs from Netflix. There are 8 episodes on it. Its a great cop show and a lot of fun to watch.

Horrible drop in quality from the pilot for episode 2. The writing is awful. Good thing it's summer otherwise I'd drop it.

For fans of Women's Murder Club (I'm one also) look for Rizzoli and Isles premiering on TNT on the 12th after The Closer. It looks like it's got potential, and Angie Harmon is a good actress (also stars Sasha Alexander).

Back on topic though...I've watched the first 2 episodes of Rookie Blue. I'd had hopes it would be better, but it's just ok. At least it's better than re-runs all summer long.

I'm very pleased with the way that networks and cable have decided there's better things to show during the summer besides re-runs and reality TV and/or game shows. They're showing new content (especially on TNT and USA Network), or the re-runs they are showing are at least shows I like and don't mind watching again, like Castle (love that show). I actually look forward to summer programming now. Not sure if this show (Rookie Blue) will last though.

Agreed. I tried to give it a chance but the "tension" between the rookies and veterans was so forced and artificial that I just said enough is enough. I like Missy P. but that's about it. Time to move on...
