worst episode so far and I fear for the future of this show.

Well looks like you are on your own there.

Thumbs up from me. The grandmother added a touch of the surreal and the ending completely capped what I thought was going to be an almost zombie-free episode.

And the show managed to make me care that one of the characters died, even though she was barely a sketch.

The graves were easy to predict however. I was surprised nobody acknowledged that.

Whenever I see her I just think she would have been better left as a head in a box on Prison Break. I don't find her convincing at all as a character. Put her in a white lab coat and she could just as easily have wandered in looking for Michael Scofield.

LOL I think SWC is a great sctress and if not I would not hate Lori the way I do !! So it is not SWC but how Lori's character is being wrote and I just find myself wanting to smack her .. She is the most hypocritical ***** and she actually has me rooting for Shane and I'm not crazy about what Shane did but yet find him more compelling to watch ..Go figure !

So do I, but I think it's because I don't see any chemistry between her and anyone. Especially when she seems to flip flop between guys without much effort.

Both guys could do better and Andrea would be a better fit for either of them.

i stand by my opinion thus far of this episode...no one is going to convince me that this episode was as good as the first or second episode? I am right?

I don't think anyone will try, I'm just pointing out that you seem to be in the minority so far.

After reading this entire thread I've noticed that no one has picked up on my one problem with the show . I thought they were going to use The Walker Bros "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore" as the intro music. When I heard that song on the preview I downloaded it immediately . It fit so perfectly with the premise .

That review doesn't speak for the entire community of people watching the show, just like me, that reviewer is only one opinion.

I'll stick to being in the minority for now, when the show redeems itself I will join the rest of you in praising it, but for now it's on my sh*t list.

After watching next week's preview again, that's probably why he says to someone "Don't tell."

Harder to say what Darryl's referencing, but it seems like one of the women might've also been bitten, or maybe the little girl? "That girl's a time bomb." Or maybe he's talking about them not head-shotting Amy?

Loved the episode, but damn, did they use cell phones to capture the video for this show? I'm beginning to wonder if the DVD(not even Blu-ray) release will be better looking than what I'm seeing via AMC-HD(Comcast).

there was something noticeably wrong with tonight's episode. I've liked the grainy look, but the macroblocking tonight (and i'm watching on FIOS) was out of control.

Enjoyed the show tonight - reminded me a bit of a Firefly episode (The Train Job).

So when the Latinos are made to look like gangbangers it's "stereotyping," but when the writer switches it up and goes against expectations it's "high school writing?"

Seriously, it's okay to not have liked this episode, but to play the "jump the shark" card is hyperbole of the worst kind.

Is someone forcing you to write this horrible episode? You never exhibited this kind of writing in not one of the original comics, why do this now?

Yeah, such a stereotype.

And yes, I realize the only people who are going to really laugh at that are people who live in and around LA, but still...lol.

Dude, everyone knows all Latinos aren't like that (they even have a Latino guy in their own group who isn't), but that doesn't change the fact that they exist. Are you just as pissed off because they have white people who are your "stereotypical" racist hicks as well? Ignoring all the other white people who aren't?

All these new storylines in the tv show are unnecessary and aren't doing justice to the quality of storytelling that I am used to from Kirkman (from his two amazingly written comics the walking dead & Invincible).
Seriously has no one else here read the comics? (besides the two gentlemen who thought them too bleak?)

I've ready every issue of the comics and have all the trades. This is a great show. While the plot lines themselves (excluding the pilot) are different from the books, the spirit of the books is totally captured by the series and I find it to be highly entertaining and easily the best new series of the season. My only complaint is that we are only getting 6 episodes.
If someone is expecting the series to follow the books page for page then I understand that would be cause for disappointment. I for one like the different approach, and to me it looks like we will get to many of the same places the books takes us, just with a different path.

I'm starting to think that they are injecting more human characters into each episode because its a budget issue...zombies cost $$$, but we'll see I will just have to wait til next episode...if this show wins an emmy for writing I will puke my guts out on youtube...(this is not a legal binding contract)

I thought the episode was about first impressions. Your first impression was they were gang members but when you stepped back and had a conversation you find out its not really true.

That's a good point. The show is very entertaining, and one of my favorites airing now, but certain aspects of the story and characterizations pale in comparison to the original. If I didn't have 8 years worth of story as context, much of this stuff wouldn't disappoint me at all.

Only for those who have read the series-

As far as I see it, killing off Amy instead of Andrea, preemptively avoids what on television could be controversial - the relationship between Amy and a much older Dale.. I really hope they don't chicken out on ending the first season the way they did the first trade (6 issue arc)

Well things are getting very interesting..
1. Where is "Rowdy", he apparently stole the Van?? The crew walked back from Atlanta???
2. The guy in the blue shirt that built the fire-pit is a bad-a**, he was kicking butt on the Zombies..
3. The #2 guy from the Atlanta gang should have been the leader, he is in everything including a great part in Training Day..
4. Did the guy with the beat up face get bit, it started at his tent???
With Dead and Nucky on Sunday Night's, we win....

Right. There is also another Hispanic guy that always has the Mexican Gangster roles. He's in CSI: Miami a lot of the times.

These 2 guys get SO many Mexican gangster roles. Must be rich by now

I doubt that's the reason. Zombies are only makeup and are largely non-speaking (extras) roles that don't pay much. "Human characters" with dialog would cost much more.

I suspect they want to stray from the comics plot just so everybody doesn't know exactly what will happen week-to-week. A serialized show is different from a film adaptation in that way.
