I'm with you on that. It is getting repetitive. I kind of admire him for sticking to his guns about the virus though. I thought about it for a while and realized that a focus on the "virus" could just as easily lead to "this close to finding the cure" repetitiveness too. Kirkman wants all the focus on the human drama of survival. I just think they could do a little better with the writing. They have the world at their feet right now, they should give us their best every week, dammit.

Just nuke 'em from space. It's the only way to make sure. Those that survive the fallout will have to not only battle one another but radioactive zombies as well. Sounds like a winner to me. Oh wait, Z Nation already did that.

Heh, the video still on that gave me an idea for a re-imagined Whack-A-Mole game.

It feels to me like each new gang is basically the same as the last. It's very repetitious. By end of next season I expect the group to get split up. Again.

I agree with you completely. I am doing my best to totally avoid a situation where i see or hear a spoiler, I do that with ALL shows that I watch, who the hell wants to ruin a great upcoming show with a spoiler that gives away whats going to happen?? Not me anyway.

Also, I think the writers should just do the whole show any way they want and stop worrying about following the comic books. I think they might be surprised how many millions of people like ME are watching the show who have never read the comics and don't intend to read the comics.

Our son has read, or is reading, the comics. Not sure how far ahead he is though. Anyway, he thinks he knows everything that is going to happen, just like many of the others who've read them. The show writers have shown time and time and time again that they're not following them to the letter. I still don't see why people don't grasp that...

Right there with you. It's like books turned into movies for me - I'd rather just do one or the other to avoid disappointment when they don't sync and get too different. Ruins one or the other for me.

I wonder just how much influence Kirkman has over the show's writing or production?

Well he did get the season 1 and 2 show runners Darabont and Mazzara bounced from the show.

Kirkman has the final say in everything, from what I've read before, but he doesn't necessarily micro-manage the writers 100%. He gives them freedom.

After the last two episodes this show is teetering on my DVR precipice. I'm not quite ready to call it quits yet, but it's not the make time on Sunday event it once was. If AMC grew a pair and demoted Kirkman and brought back Darabont I do believe, like a walker, this show could rise again.

Ah, it'll still be my Sunday event when it returns, Love it! But in AMC's defense, didn't Darabont's show on TNT crash and burn? I never saw it, don't really know how much he had to do with it, or why it got pulled, but....

Never gonna happen. They can't get rid of Kirkman. It's Kirkman's baby. I don't know the legal specifics, but I can pretty much guarantee that Kirkman has and always will have, final say. He would never give up control of it. And AMC will never do anything to risk losing their cash cow.

As my daughter said, Negan doesn't know how to play that game right. He didn't use one word per person as he counted, etc, etc. It was completely random.

Was Kirkman responsible for Darabont's firing? I thought that was a network decision because Darabont was perpetually behind schedule and couldn't deliver his episodes on time.

After he was dumped from Walking Dead, Darabont created a period gangster series on TNT called Mob City. It starred Jon Bernthal (Shane). The show was advertised as a "limited event series," but it was pretty clear that everybody hoped for a second season. However, the show was a big ratings dud and the network passed on renewing it.

Probably won't ever get a straight answer but according to Mazzara, Darabont had creative differences with Kirkman in addition to the network money issues:

All this speculation about who may have died reminded me about this shows history, which is that they probably won't show who died until at least three episodes into next season.

The zombies have, for the most part (other than herds) stopped being the threat for several seasons. Its mostly about the other humans which is where it goes a bit crazier as it imagines pretty much the worst of human behavior.

Sure but if they eradicate the zombies, they can grow crops, livestock, etc.

Rebuild infrastructure, eventually civilization.

Otherwise, the status quo is these pockets of survivors cut off from each other and competing and fighting against each other for resources.

Kind of like medieval days, they'd need to build walls and defense towers to guard against the raiding hordes as well as against competing city-states.

i have a feeling people are going to take their frustration out on amc by not tuning into the fear show this summer...also with the fake-outs and cliffhangers...its like the boy who cried wolf...why wait til next week or season when you can just binge watch it on netflix or in your dvr...this decision will lead to a decreased viewership for season 7 for sure.
again terrible idea from the entire room who approved the cliffhanger.

Is FTWD even going to be on this Summer? It just started and I think there are only fifteen episodes. If they split it up then the first half would be aired before the end of May.

I am guessing it will go FTWD>Preacher>FTWD>TWD (unless they fit something else in between Preacher and TWD).
