Yeah you would think drugs would be a factor with the Saviors and other survivors in this miserable world.

Surprised they haven't come across a community of meth cookers.

About the powder charge, one must work up a proper charge. Powders vary wildly in their strength. You don't want the gun to blow up in your hand, so you start small. Typically, in non-apocalypse times, one has loading data from the powder manufacturer that lets you make safe load choices for the caliber and bullet type. We don't know if Eugene is using commercially available powder, or if he has made his own crude black powder. Regardless, he had only one empty casing to fill, and did not have the luxury of filling then range-testing repeatedly in order to work up a good load. FWIW, I have seen bullets stuck in regular pine 2x4 wood, so this isn't as far-fetched at it might have seemed.
It's only far fetched if you believe everything else you see from TV with bullets. Like all TV and movies, a large part of it is not based on reality. Most of the time they show a bullet exploding or pushing someone backwards.

And if "I am Negan / We are Negan" did came from Spartacus, it only makes it more stupid. It ls like the little kid that sees his father put fertilizer in the garden plants and then proceeds and puts fertilizer in his fathers salad. I wouldn't like to eat that salad and I don't like what I see in TWD this year.

About kamikazi, I don't see how it is relevant to Negan's philosophy and way of life. Or with that woman/Negan in the car and what she did.

From what they have shown... the only place those roads led to was Hilltop. They didn't have to know why Rick was trying to get there... they just observed him leaving and heading up the road towards Hilltop and decided to block access to it. They had some suspicions, apparently, that perhaps Hilltop had asked for help against the Saviors (that attack on their outpost)... so they were watching Hilltop.

Assuming Hilltop is on a hill... that's the only place those roads up the hill could lead... so if you're headed there, you have to take one of those roads.

I certainly don't see a better argument in saying the Saviors hung out on the roads for God knows how long, waiting for Rick's group to head to Hilltop. Secondly Gregory didn't want Maggie and Sasha there because it might implicate Hilltop in Rick's attacks. I don't see where the show implies the Saviors knew Rick was visiting Hilltop.

Znation covered that. In case you don't know, its a show about zombies, unlike TWD.

I have read that both the Japanese and Nazi military used meth as a stimulant.

I think the "I am Negan" mantra is not said in a sense of pride but in intimidation. It's usually said when someone asks "Where's Negan?" or demands that they be taken to him or to relay a message. Basically, they're saying that Negan is not just a man but a new world order that you must bow to.

I always saw the 'I am Negan' mantra as a show of solidarity...meaning we are all 1 and everyone/anyone of us is Negan...even though Negan rules like a dictator he tries to make it seem as though the group is 1 collective mind...probably just another form of brainwashing ala Jim Jones

Well if it lowers ad rates for next season, AMC will care, and they'll let the producers know.

While lower in relative terms, the show still has high ratings.

So it would be good to see them lose another 20% from now. Maybe that will kick the rears of the show runners to try a different tack than the villain of the season cycles they've been on for several years.

I always remember an episode (of all things) of Rescue 911 where the story profiled two officers who were pinned down on one side of a police car. They each had to use the wheels for cover in order to get the extra protection of the brake discs and other components. The suspect had a semi-automatic long rifle and the bullets were just ripping though one side of the car and out the other.

Heat was one movie that kind of got that right in the shootout scene following the bank robbery getaway attempt. You saw the bullet hits punch through the cars and hit people on the opposite sides.

I wonder how Robert De Niro would do in a zombie apocalypse?

Based on his career in recent years I'm fairly certain that he'd be willing to give it a try. There appears to be little he won't do if you dangle a paycheck in front of him.

Depends on the car now. Police cruiser doors can be fitted with ballistic protection of various levels to give officers something to stand behind during a gunfight. Not in widespread use outside of major cities I don't think.

And of all things I think I learned that by noticing a cruiser door sticker in an early episode of Southland or The Closer.

But for those who may not have seen episode 1 yet it does, indeed, contain spoilers... I guess there are those who record the entire season and then marathon it later...
