According to the discussion in The Talking Dead, it actually was the same truck.

That whole speech thing really bothered me too. It's like they all grew up children of the corn or something. As far as I could tell, they would have all been adults when the zombie apocalypse started. Judith ought to be speaking in tongues by the time she's 4 if this holds true.

I guess they have to come up with gimmicks for each group they encounter.

Otherwise, they'd look pretty much the same, one after the other. So colorful names for the groups with some traits that make them stand out from the countless other post-apocalyptic groups.

It can't be just a bunch of people doing their best to survive, it has to be some schtick involved.

But are they fooling anyone? It's just rival group of the week or year now at this point.

My problem was that Rick should have been at least 100 feet or higher to see the vast view as depicted.

I don't know if they would do this sort of thing on this particular show... but I wondered if this group might be a group of autistic people. Rather than assuming these were somehow regressed people after only a few years since the "apocalypse" I went the other direction and thought this could have been a group of autistic people who have actually evolved after a few years of bonding together to survive.

Time will tell, but I got more of a sense of high-intelligence with awkward or lack of social skills vibe from them.

The part about Gabriel in the pantry is really confusing, but in the previous episode we heard a loud crash, then later we see Gabriel packing up things. I guess the crash was that person jumping him that Gabriel mentioned to Rick. Probably the person in the back of the car.

Now I don't know why Gabriel went to the pantry anyway. We saw him on lookout, start reading his bible and kind of flip. Later Rick finds the bible on the floor and wonders why Gabriel didn't take it but I also sees a clue. I don't know if we are to suppose that the spy wrote something in the bible to alarm Gabriel, but that seems to be a ridiculous interference. So I still don't understand Gabs initial movements.
He said he went to pantry because he heard something and was investigating. Then they jumped him and made him do that (taking stuff).

Yup, this is what it is now. While I still enjoy the show somewhat, I feel like there does need to be some real shift in the narrative somehow. I know the show is really supposed to be about human nature and man vs man, but for me, I have now seen quite enough of that. Or at least I want a break from it for a bit. (Plus, come on, who is gonna watch this show with no zombies? :-)

I'd like to see our heroes in another scenario, something other than fighting the "group of the week". Maybe there is some natural disaster (fighting zombies in a hurricane, or a massive Forrest fire?), or maybe they continue moving on and find some place with actual electricity and technology (who knows, some underground government lab or something), or even a cure (god forbid).

It doesn't really matter what, I just wouldn't mind changing the narrative a bit at this point. I don't want it to end as some do, I think there are a lot more possibilities for good stuff.

I think the dump gang is just a bunch of redshirts. They need them for pure numbers but when the fighting starts they are going to get mowed down.

I have a feeling we're seeing why some of the better producers/people aren't with the show anymore. Kirkman seems intent on ramming all his cartoony comic book crap down everyone's throats. There are so many awesome directions you could take this premise and cast, but apparently what we ARE going to get, is one gimmicky faction group led by kooky cartoon leader after another. Kirkman should take a page from GRRM and let the TV people do what they do best. The check will still be the same size.

The show is a Soap Opera, plain and simple .. it's always been a Soap Opera .. no matter which way the plot may turn, it will be about Survival of the Fittest ..

"As the World Turns" ..

Yeah, sure, that's nice and easy and everything. Doesn't mean it's not a wasted opportunity though. They really had something here. Kirkman should have been congratulated on his ideas and then appraised of his limitations.
