The Soup is now in HD, three years late according to Joel McHale. Hopefully this bodes well for Web Soup on G4 switching to HD next season.

I was surprised to see that when I watched tonight. They hadn't mentioned at all last week and then all of a sudden it's in HD!

I wonder if it's going to impact what they decide to cover on the show. Will they still show clips from non-HD shows? From this episode it looked like all the clips were in HD as well, or at least a vast majority of them.

It would make sense that they waited till now to go hd. Most of the shows they covered are now available in hd even the sindicated ones. I did like how they had an error message popup at the begining.

You can never judge a show by its pilot episode or the half season following it.

I liked that error message that popped-up on the screen, as well.

I also like how they still kept that audio clip "sooooo meaty!"

And of course, I love Lou the chihuahua. I like how they update the 'Clip of the Week' graphic and how they use Lou in it. To be honest I do not remember if they use to Loue before.

Now that The Soup is in HD, is there any word on when E! News Daily and other shows are going HD?

They definitely still covered non-hd shows. Instead of black bars, i think they did an out of focus thing (if you have any idea what I'm talking about)

Fwiw, I think the soup just might be the last show I care about to finally convert to hd! I feel so complete.

I noticed the picture quality last week was especially terrible. They did mention that they were shooting at Robert Rodriguez's Troublemaker Studios in Texas though. Must have taped the show down there while everything was being upgraded.

Awesome. Another one of my favorite shows moves to HD and I won't be seeing it because D* blows. I'll just throw it on the pile next to Breaking Bad (and perhaps the Walking Dead...there's also a separate pile for shows I stopped watching because the SD is so horrible like AOTS on G4).

And was that guy serious with the "That's what she said" thing? That has to be an act. I hope that's an act. No one could be that dumb.

Right?

Right?

My brother said him and his co-workers were doing that, "thats what she said" joke quite a bit one day, and one of his co-workers had NO! idea about the joke existing.

Final episode tonight

E!s ‘The Soup’ ending after Joel McHale’s current season wraps this December
By Elizabeth Wagmeister | November 11, 2015 | variety.com

After 22 seasons, E! is ending “The Soup,” the cable network announced Wednesday. The final episode will air on Dec. 18, serving as the series finale.

Hosted by Joel McHale for 12 years, the pop culture comedy series has been a staple on E! for more than two decades.

“We are incredibly proud of the long-running success of ‘The Soup,” said Jeff Olde, exec vice president of programming and development for E! “‘The Soup’ has delivered countless laughs and unforgettable episodes, and we are grateful to the talented team’s fearless wit and clever approach week after week. Joel took the show to new heights for more than a decade, and his irreverent humor and unique brand of comedy as captured so perfectly on ‘The Soup’ will be missed.”

Leading up to the Dec. 18 finale, new episodes will continue to air Friday nights, featuring McHale looking back on the series’ most memorable moments from the past 22 years.
