I like the show a lot, but I have to admit that was pathetic how quickly they wrapped up both stories. This could have easily been a two parter.

Yeah it was another stupidly implausible ep, notwithstanding the 'let's just pop over to Colombia from Hawaii and take out a big narco factory in less than a day' nonsense. Which they didn't even show because they ran out of time.

I mean I know you have to check your brain at the door when you start watching this show (and just admire the eye candy), but jeez at least make some attempt at being realistic.

Out of everything that happened in the episode that's your biggest complaint? The impossibly implausible plot that somehow all happened in the course of a day wasn't a problem for you?

Many here are not old enough to remember the original Five-O show with its equally ridiculous plot lines and the addition of the star of the show being the single most pompous actor around (pre David Caruso), but still was enjoyable to watch the antics and to see what Jack God would do next. The show comes from a tradition. If it was realistic, I would not watch.

That would have bothered me if they actually said this happened in one day, but they didn't. Sure, it seemed that way based on how fast it moved, but never once did they actually say as much.

Maybe I'm missing something. I don't understand why so many folks here feel the need to complain about this particular show being "unrealistic".

FFS IT'S TV!!!

Nearly all TV shows are unrealistic:
  • The CSI's??? Lab miracles anyone????
  • The Mentalist??? What, did Red John have mind control powers?
  • Castle??? Best selling author/NYPD Consultant? 2 month disappearance?
  • The Walking Dead?? How long do zombies last, anyway??
Is 5-0 fantasy? Yes. Who ever said it wasn't?

Your problem with the realism of The Walking Dead is how long zombies last?

Danno should be killed off in one episode via decapitation and then come back the next like nothing ever happened.

I keep asking why I find this show even watchable, much less enjoyable, but I do. I wish I could afford a psychiatrist to ask why. When the writers went completely bonkers last fall and rewrote their own psychedelic drug trip into the episode that killed off Wo Fat, I should have tossed it in, but did not. Now, an extended loony siege at the Commander's barber shop by the local Armenian mob boss trying to kill his own son because he went off the rails as a child molester/killer does not even phase me.

Behind the scenes inquiry- is Scott Caan okay? I've noticed he keeps vanishing, and there's a pattern of at least 4 episodes he's in, then the 5th he's off.
Don't want to pry, but it is worrying.

Along with the never-ending hilarity of McGarrett firing what, 50 shots, from a pistol when there's no way he'd be carrying extra clips? Comedy gold.

McGarrett does not carry spare bullets -- he gnaws new cartridges out of scrap metal and uses his sh!t as powder.

It's an ensemble cast, not everybody appears in every episode.

Like Law&Order:SVU - we don't always see Amaro or Tutuola or Rollins in every episode.

FYI, the opening credits are fixed in stone, well maybe change when characters are removed (Munch, Cragen) or added (Carisi).

I wouldn't exactly consider Caan part of the ensemble cast. He, along with O'Loughlin are the two main characters, so it is a bit odd that he keeps disappearing. Now, if it were any of the others, it wouldn't be as noticeable.

The only thing I can guess is he's off filming scenes for a movie while this is going on.

You are not alone. I keep asking the same question. My wife and I both agreed that the stakeout episode on 2/27/15 was probably one of the worst, if not the worst episode ever. You usually get filler material at the beginning with a little sprinkle in the middle and some more at the end. That episode was the opposite, 80% filler material! We were that close to letting go. But we decided to give it one more try. Then we got the episode in which McGarret goes to Colombia on a beater of an helicopter being flown by Jimmy Buffet to take on a old facility being guarded by heavily-armed drug dealers with just Joe White and all of a sudden in a matter of a couple of minutes or less, he is back with no scratches and with evidence to help Dano and then we know, and then we knew, verything is back to normal in the Hawaii 5-0 universe! and we are staying put.
