I can't believe he took a partner over someone he clearly likes. Be interesting to see where this goes.

"I'll have 2 fingers of bourbon over 1 cube of ice" and "I'll have what she's having".

Gotta luv the stereotypes!

If I owned a whiskey company, I'd find a way to keep this show on the air. Constant free product placement advt that gets around network restrictions.

I truly enjoy this show--great writing and acting. There are a few things I've noticed that have changed this season. One is the show is showing more of a complete "physical" presence. An example of this is--instead of just showing the Commissioner's office (and a peek out the doors to the outside area), they have now added the hallway through the outer office area to the room where press conferences are held. You get to see the complete walk from Selleck's office to the press area. I think this is a nice touch, in that it gives a more "real" feeling to his office area. And, in this week's show, they have a new (unseen till now) meeting room where the Chiefs and Commissioner hold meetings (as opposed to the meeting room used for this in past seasons). Another nice touch, I think. Speaking of that meeting room--this week Danny's sergeant was being grilled by one of the Chiefs in this room. I thought it was a great writing twist to have Selleck make this guy his "right-hand man" (even though he doesn't have the rank for the job). It will be interesting to see who will be the replacement for him to be Danny's "boss". Hope this show keeps up the high standards I feel they have set for several more seasons!

Blue Bloods is one of my favorite 44 minutes each week. Of course as a long time Selleck fan I like everything he does.

I liked this week's show a lot too. The scene in which the Commish handed the media whore preacher his head was worth the price of admission.

If the writers could fit it in (without detracting from the other characters), I would like to see them give Baker (Abigail Hawk) more of a presence every once in a while. It wouldn't need to occur often. But maybe once (or twice?) a season. I feel she is being under-utilized. The one episode (last season) where she really handed his lunch to one of the detectives (?) at a meeting/conference was outstanding. She was given a lot of air-time on that episode and I thought she did quite well.

Marisa Ramirez is doing a fine job but I do miss Jennifer Esposito. She had a certain Je Ne Sais Quoi that I found quite appealing. Unfortunately her employment demands (or health situation) resulted in her termination.

I concur. Marisa does the role nicely--no complaints. But, I have always felt that Esposito just "fit" better in the role. I can't put a finger on it. She just seemed to be a "natural" for that role. I see she does now appear on the show "Mysteries of Laura" as the M.E.. I think her talents are wasted there. And, at that, she has a minor appearance on the show. I guess having a small part on a show is better than not having work at all. Hope better future offerings await her.

I think it's because she seems more like a cop than the current one does.

I'm not sold at all on Danny's current partner. The rest of the cast is great.

Sort of a fun episode but for Blue Bloods it did push the limits of our credulity.

The show usually "ties up" the different story lines by the end of the show. Perhaps I missed something on this episode. I'm referring to "Grandpa" and the hidden recording of the way he used to do things when he was the PC. Everybody seemed to be at odds of what to do about this and Grandpa was resolute that he did nothing wrong. It seemed to me there was no resolution to this story line by the end of the show. As I stated-did I miss something? If I did, what was the outcome of this story line?

Except that she is NOT a Reagan and it is a Reagan FAMILY Sunday dinner. I cannot recall an episode in which there was anyone outside the family at dinner.

What I am getting at is she could be with a ring. She sure as hell has the right attitude.

Yes, without a doubt, and it's pretty clear that the writers are setting up one of 2 things: Jamie and Janko date/get married, or something very bad happens to Janko somewhere down the road that takes Jamie in a different direction.

Jamie gets together with Janko, decides to quit the force and become a DA. Dinner gets real interesting.

It would be more interesting if he became a public defender attorney or whatever they're called. However, I don't see that happening given the family lineage.

Has she shown the requisite strong taste for whiskey?

Not sure about whiskey but she does seem to hang at the bar a lot. The 4 types of scenes that they are in are usually in the squad room, in the patrol car, chasing a perp, or in a bar. Perfect Reagan material.

Well, she wasn't even in Friday's episode at all since this week's focus was on Erin and her job situation.

If Janko were to be at the dinner table it would balance out with 4 on each side.

One of the running jokes on the show has been to write an occasional scene where Donnie Wahlberg's character cheers for the Jets. He is from Boston and of course a huge Patriots fan in real life.

Exactly! The writers enjoy busting the MA actors' chops with repeated (in character) references to the hated Jets.

Am I noticing something that isn't there? Or, did Frank (Selleck) look physically terrible on this weeks show? By that, I mean, compared to the others on the show, he looked VERY pale-almost white-ish in coloration. He looked that way on the CBS interview section, the family dinner and in his office. Also, his eyes looked to be VERY blood-shot. Much more than normal. Did a new make-up person mess up his coloration? Or, was he truly not feeling well during this weeks recording of the show? If he wasn't well, I wish him a fast recovery. If it was the make-up, get rid of whomever did this to him. In any event, he looked pale and very tired (IMO).

As to Danny's (Wahlberg) new boss--IMO, what a casting mistake, physically. This lady was SO overweight, there is no way she could stay on the force and pass a department's physical. When Danny, and she, were chasing the shooter (near the top of the show), she was waddling/bouncing around. She was so large, the holster on her belt was sticking out nearly sideways. Don't misunderstand me--I'm not saying she should be a size six. But, get real--she is just WAY too overweight to stay on a police force. She also looked uninformed about handling a sidearm. She seemed to be uncomfortable in handling a pistol--she seemed to have had maybe a few minutes training on how to properly hold it. And, lastly, was she wearing a wig? To me, her hair did not appear natural at all. It looked to be a wig--a cheap one at that. Just my opinion.

I'm not dumping on the show. This is one of my favorite shows to view every week. Each episode goes by too quickly. It is well-written and portrayed. Hope it lasts for many more seasons. What I wrote above just seemed to REALLY catch my attention this week. Any comments from anyone concerning what I seemed to have noticed?

Noticed the same thing about the new mis-cast boss but lately the writers have been on such a roll that even this mis-casting gets painted over.
Love the dialog between Frank & his PR guy. Danny & the new boss scenes seem too contrived.
