Love the dialog between Frank & his PR guy. Danny & the new boss scenes seem too contrived.
I concur the dialog between Danny and the new boss was WAY too predictable. As to the PR guy--the last few episodes, he and Frank have had quite a few blatant squabbles. Much more than they used to. I wonder if this is leading up to something. I think it is a nice touch to have somebody that is able to stand up to Frank (Selleck) once in a while. What happened to Frank's new right-hand man? He wasn't in this episode. Maybe the writers had no part for him this episode. And (I mentioned in an earlier posting), I still miss Jennifer Esposito.

I agree that everything between Danny and the new boss is too forced. But I have to say the scene with the baby almost got to me.

Next week's episode Danny contemplates suicide over the Jets' cellar dwelling 2-8 record but Frank & his sister talk him out of it.

last nights topic about no more arrests for pot was right on the money.. Today the NYPD announced a new policy for being caught with 25 grams or less of pot. No more arrests just summonses..Great timing CBS:

I don't know if anyone has seen this, but Blue Bloods is now on Netflix (the first 4 seasons).

The ION TV Channel has this series on in marathon each week. I was able to start at the beginning and working through it. I am of the age where I watched Magnum PI, so it is very difficult for me to see Frank (Selleck) and how much he aged. Especially when he talks and it sounds like he is wearing dentures. Good cop show though.

I guess I am used to it since I watched all the Jesse Stone movies. I doubt Tom has dentures, though. I'm sure he can afford a good dentist.

Love the show. Hated that it wasn't on last week. Instead we got the new awards show that I didn't even watch. Who needs it? Apparently the ratings answered with a resounding "No One!"

As always, I enjoyed this week's show. I thought it was a great writing twist to have the Sergeant (Frank's right-hand man) get caught at the press meeting having to answer a question. With Frank (Selleck) looking apprenhensive, and the Sergeant twisting in the wind with how to answer diplomatically, he stammered out his answer without having to give away his true feelings about body-cams on police. Great idea, writing staff! It was fun to watch.

Again, I feel that Baker (Abigail Hawk) is really being underutilized. In this week's show, you only saw her in the background, unfocused. What a waste. Writers--please give her at least a LITTLE air-time. She is a good actress and she is not being used.

On the flip of the coin--would the producers/directors/writers PLEASE get rid of Danny's (Wahlberg) new commander? As I mentioned in a previous posting, she absolutely does not fit the part physically. And, IMO, she is not that good of an actress. The spoken story lines they are giving her are WAY too predictable. The exchanges between her, and Danny, are a complete waste of time.

Another cast member that gets very little air-time is Danny's wife (Amy Madigan). About the only time you see her now is at the family dinner table. At that, she is given little to say.

All in all, though, I do enjoy this show. Hope it keeps going for quite a while.

Agreed Danny's wife Linda Reagan needs more airtime. Her name is Amy Carlson not Amy Madigan

You are quite right! I was in error. Thanks for catching that. I lived in Illinois for a long time and the A.G. of the state's name is Amy Madigan. I. obviously twisted the two names. Sorry.

I did not take your response as being harsh-don't give it a second thought. I just like to be accurate when I post here. I have seen many postings in AVS that are not accurate and that bothers me. So, I take no offense being corrected when I goof up. Once again, thanks for catching that.

Yes, I've always liked her from as far back as her time on Third Watch. Do any of you remember her last appearance on that show? I do...

Glad to see they finally gave Linda Regan (Amy Carlson) some serious air time on this week's episode. About time, IMO. Now, please give Baker (Abigail Hawk) some serious air time, also. Thank you.

Does anyone think CBS will have the balls to script an episode about the rift between the NYPD union and the mayor? There is lots of meat and variables there for the writers to work with on how the characters would deal with something like that.

Well they have in the past featured several episodes where Frank was at some serious odds with his boss the mayor. He'd say "I know I serve at your pleasure, but..."

Did anyone else notice that the episodes are being shown out of order? Or, the writers messed up. What I am referring to is last weeks episode and this weeks episode. Last week, Sgt. Gormley was promoted to Lt.. In this weeks episode, he is continually referred to as Sgt..

I had been feeling that Garrett (Frank's right-hand PR person) had been slowly getting a large ego. I.E.-he was talking back more and more to Frank. I was getting the impression that his character felt that he was more important than the Commissioner. It was interesting to see him put in his place this week.

I would still like to see Abigail Hawk get more air time. It was nice that in last week's and this week's episode that Amy Carlson finally got more air exposure.

I noticed that too. It might just be a continuity issue, but still, it was noticeable.

Is it my imagination, or are the dinner table scenes getting much more argumentative than they used to be? From my memory (FWIW), I seem to recall that these scenes used to be more "family issue" oriented. I.E.--Erin and problems with her daughter--Linda/Danny referring to their sons--Frank remembering times past of his wife, etc.. Now, it seems to me, that for the last few episodes, there is always a disruptive argument--Danny telling off Linda (and vice-versa), Grandpa getting angry with Frank, Danny walking away from the table in anger, etc.. I would like to see this dinner table scene revert back to what it used to be--family back-and-forth issues without all the anger.

On a different note-the stories of this week's episode seemed quite predictable. When Jamie finds the homeless kid, you knew he would get involved and straighten it out. With Erin and the D.A. at the nice restaurant--I could feel that their relationship was going to go rocky--which it did. Did anyone else seem to sense this?

Yeah, the storyline with the kid was somewhat predictable.

Anyone know if Tom Selleck was really injured? I couldn't find that info anywhere online.
