There is a stuck pixel coming from the low 3rd camera from the Rangers vs. Rays game. Every time they go to this camera I can see a white pixel on the right side of the picture about half way up vertically in the picture.

The audio mix for the game wih TWC here in Manhattan is not good. My Denon audyssey setp is usually spot on for all sports, but the audio mix is now very announcer centric, I have had to adjust and tinker way too much for my liking for it to sound right, hopefully tonight's thrashing of the Twins sounds better. PQ is great though.

Doubt this is a TWC issue.

Watching ALDS Game 1: Texas Rangers/Tampa Bay Rays. Picture quality looks as good as it can get considering its in a dome. DD 5.1 sounds kinda hollow to me. I dunno if that has anything to do with my Sony AVR model STR KS-370 always set to Pro Logic. If I set it to Sports mode, then there's this very annoying echo in the room.

And the FOUL!

Can the Twins show up? Unlike the last two losers?

Jeter is finished, i think some people will actually be surprised when he doesn't bring it this postseason....

I like the changes to PitchTrax this year. The extension showing a CGI overhead view is nice for seeing the break on some of these pitches and emphasizing that the strike zone is where a pitch crosses the front of the plate, not where it's caught. The removal of the "flash" effect when the system determines a pitch is in the strike zone is also a welcome change as that was my biggest complaint in the past.

TBS NYY/MIN Game 1 PQ very good, but not quite as sharp as I'm used to for 1080i baseball from YES/NESN/CSN. Watching on a 50" 1080p plasma via a D* HR24.

Uh oh, here come the Yankees...

Wow, Ernie Johnson is worse than Chip Caray.
Kept saying the game was tied and that Posada scored tying run.

After watching games on YES HD all year this looks like 480p

I don't think he saw Cano score at first since that ball was up there a looooong time.

I'm an Ernie Johnson fan, but he has no place in the announcing booth. No feel for the game and merely tells you what just happened, not what's currently happening. Stick to the studio. How does TBS allow this horrible announcing to be a staple of their productions?

Perhaps they couldn't find anyone to replace Chip "Fisted" Caray (or didn't want to pay anyone too much) - so they stuck him with the job to save $.

Their "B" and "C" play by play guys are substantially better. Anderson is very good as is Orsillo. Couldn't bump each of them up and save money by getting a lesser guy for the C team? That would make more sense to me.

Yes these guys are horrid...i knew it was gone, just a question of whether it will stay far and Ernie seemed like he was asleep. Also it was hilarious earlier in the Rays game with those horrible announcers and a half-empty ballpark, seemed like Game 1 of the preseason....

The audio is not only a tick off, but it sounds like a "phone call" coming through a campbell's soup can tied to a string.

The PQ on TWC in Mahattan is alright, def not as good as ESPN HD or YES HD though.

The only thing worse than this insane amount of graphics is EJ in the booth. Chip Caray is somewhere muttering to himself.

Apart from the upper deck, that stadium was pretty packed...evidence that 35k people were there...

But, don't get me wrong, I'm a Rangers fan and the Ballpark will be PACKED when the ALDS rolls into town on Saturday!

I was very disappointed that TBS did not use the overhead camera in centerfield as the main pitch cam. Also disappointed in how bad Ernie Johnson was. Don Orsillo is great with Remy on NESN. Buck Martinez was very good on MASN but now that he does PxP for the Jays he's lost some of his luster.

Is it me or does TNT have better HD than TBS? It seems like when TNT does NBA coverage, the picture just seems to pop out.

I really cannot even listen to Ernie Johnson. Why do they take a decent studio host and try to make him a play-by-play announcer?

I like Don Orsillo, but Buck Martinez is horrible. I wish they could just use Orsillo with Jerry Remy; those two are great together on NESN.

I kind of think the opposite;it seems the TNT HD suffers from macroblocking in motion more than the TBS stuff.

I bet a lot is due to how particular providers compress these particular channels.

Yup When i was a TWC customer here in Manhattan (switched to FIOS) TNT wasn't compressed because it was in a 2- 1 QAM and TBS was and I believe still in a 3-1 QAM. I was watching the game at a friend house last night, he as TWC, the picture is decent since the channel is compressed.

TBS turned off the live PitchTrax graphics after a missed strike three to Lance Berkman.
