The wedding took up all of about 5 minutes...and the whole deal with Conan getting his minister license was hilarious. And they were able to do something truly groundbreaking on tv. I thought it was fantastic.

I forgot about that I wonder if in the year (insert year that ends in thousand) will make a return.

You can never judge a show by its pilot episode or the half season following it.

My guess is that Smigel has held total rights to the character all along.

Agreed. They were probably just waiting for a marquee moment (like the return to NYC) to bring the segment back.

Conan needs to move back to NY; he was on fire last week. The crowds are just more alive there; he's a NY kind of guy, not an LA guy.

This is a pretty amazing clip, although it displays the horror that is corporate news broadcasts more than comment on Conan.

That's incredible. I love the YouTube tease:
News stations everywhere put their own unique spin on Conan's same-sex wedding news. Everyone should watch the clip to learn what "unique spin" means.

Conan O'Brien's TBS Late-Night Talk Show Renewed Through April 2014
By Nellie Andreeva, Deadline.com - Feb. 22, 2012

Three years after it first signed former NBC late-night talk show host Conan O'Brien, TBS has extended his late-night series Conan through April 2014. I am excited to continue my run with TBS because they have been fantastic partners, O'Brien said. This means I'll be taping episodes of Conan well into the Ron Paul presidency.

After a huge ratings start, Conan settled into a modest ratings territory, keeping its appeal to younger viewers. In announcing the show's renewal, TBS touts a recent streak of 3 consecutive months of audience growth. Year-to-date, Conan has averaged 1.1 million viewers, with 407,000 adults 18-34 and 702,000 adults 18-49. We are proud to be in business with Conan O'Brien for the long run, said TNT and TBS' head of programming Michael Wright. Night after night, Conan and his team have put together terrific shows that draw a young and fiercely loyal audience. As if that weren't enough, they have also built a dynamic online presence that keeps fans engaged like no other show in late night.

O'Brien has 5 million followers on Twitter, while video clips from Conan logged more than 83 million views in 2011. Last year, the show traveled to New York. In June 2012, Conan will do a week of shows in Chicago. TBS' relationship goes beyond the talk show. O'Brien's Warner Bros. TV-based company Conaco recently produced a comedy pilot for the network. Produced by Conaco, Conan is executive produced by Jeff Ross.

LATE NIGHT TALK SHOW HOST Conan O’BRIEN TO VISIT CBS’s “LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN,” THURSDAY, MAY 17

This Will Be O’Brien’s First Visit to the LATE SHOW in 13 Years

Late night talk show host Conan O’Brien will make his first visit to the LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN in 13 years when he appears on the broadcast Thursday, May 17 (11:35 PM-12:37 AM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

O’Brien succeeded Letterman as host of “Late Night” in 1993 after Letterman left the show to begin his LATE SHOW on CBS. O’Brien hosted “Late Night” until 2009, when he became host of “The Tonight Show” until January 2010. In November 2010, he began another chapter in his career with the debut of his late night cable talk show, “Conan,” which he currently hosts.

This will mark O’Brien’s fifth visit to the LATE SHOW. He last sat down for an interview with Letterman 13 years ago, on Jan. 13, 1999.

Also featured on the LATE SHOW on Thursday, May 17 are musician John Mayer, who will be sitting in with Paul Shaffer and the CBS Orchestra, and a performance by musical guest Regina Spektor.

The LATE SHOW with DAVID LETTERMAN is a production of Worldwide Pants Incorporated. Barbara Gaines, Matt Roberts, Jude Brennan, Maria Pope, Eric Stangel, Justin Stangel and Rob Burnett are the executive producers.

Anyone saw Conan in his visit to Chicago?

All 4 eps were hilarious, closing with Triumph, the Insult Comic dog.. on his bit I was literally crying of laughter..

(I wish I could get an uncensored version of that bit)..

RIP Mom, we always love you 8/18/13

I think I can still remember the first episode. Leg wrestling? I feel old now.

However I still don't remember Conan is still on the air now. The only way I see the show is by accident.

edit: Yep! Goodman vs Wendt!

Ha, almost two years have past since I posted the above and I still only remember the show is on by accident.

Fortunately for me I accidentally stumbled upon Conan in Cuba tonight by having TBS running in the background early tonight. One thing has not changed with Conan in all the years he has been on the air and that is whenever he gets out of the studio the results are always excellent and funny. I would totally watch Conan traveling the world on Travel Channel.

My wife and I caught "Conan in Cuba" last night as well and enjoyed it quite a bit. Interesting and funny.

Conan is out of the country again and another of his travel specials is on tomorrow night. He took his assistant to visit Armenia where her family came from.

The job perks seem quite good on his show!

Conan in Korea is on TBS this Saturday at 11pm.

Odd timeslot, but I assume from the talk about some kind of music video premier at midnight with Steven Yeun that the time might be relevant to Korean local time?

Still think he should make a full season of "Conan Goes to ..." shot during some off weeks.
