I like the show, but I like cars/trucks of all kinds. It's not the British show, but who would expect that?

The show isn't bad but they really need to get rid of Adam. I can't stand the dude. Aside from his lame one liners that sometimes exert a chuckle. I can't stand him. Tanner is cool but he's so nerdy. Rutledge is probably the most tolerable for me.

I feel the exact opposite.

Last episode was actually pretty good. But one can't save a season.

So what, it was five minutes long?

Seriously, everything on this version just seems so forced compared to the British version, which seems effortless.

By comparison on this version the hosts constantly seem to be saying "See how much fun we're having, gosh we're having fun, fun, fun!!!" without actually having fun.

Why in the world would they have a 'best of' show when the show just got started? What a waste.

I switched to this show thinking it was the other version (I didnt even look at the channel). To my surprise it was a best of this show, I said the same thing to myself, how can you have a best of when the show hasnt even been on that long.

Considering how bad this show is, wouldn't the best of show be the best of the worst.

History Greenlights Second Season of Its Youngest-Skewing Show Ever

History announced Thursday that it is greenlighting a second season of a critically acclaimed series that has attracted the channel’s youngest audience ever.

The show is “Top Gear,” a U.S. adaptation of the award-winning and wildly popular BBC automotive show. The U.S. version is a co-production of History and BBC Worldwide.

The second season will start shooting this spring, the network said. The U.S. show is hosted by Adam Ferrara, Tanner Foust and Rutledge Wood.

Almost 60 million viewers tuned in for the first season of “Top Gear” on History, the channel reported.

Exclusive
History Renews 'Top Gear' For Season 2
Thursday February 10, 2011
By NELLIE ANDREEVA Deadline Hollywood

EXCLUSIVE: Start your engines: History has greenlit a second season of Top Gear. The U.S. adaptation of the iconic BBC car series premiered in November and has averaged the youngest audience ever for a series on History.

Production on the second season of Top Gear, from BBC Worldwide Prods., will begin in the spring. Returning as co-hosts are comedian Adam Ferrara, champion rally and drift racer Tanner Foust and racing analyst Rutledge Wood. John Hesling is executive producing the series, which features extreme stunts and challenges, car reviews and celebrity interviews, along with History's Russ McCarroll.

The U.S. version has gotten the seal of approval from Jeremy Clarkson, host of the UK Top Gear. Clarkson said he and fellow co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May were initially "anxious" about passing the show on to their US counterparts. "We needn't have worried because Top Gear is clearly in safe hands, even if they do insist on speaking in those stupid accents," Clarkson said. "Watching an episode from series 1 with Richard and James, we found ourselves in a genuinely heated debate about which of the presenters' cars was best. We were just three ordinary chaps watching a car show and loving it, which is exactly what Top Gear should be. Bring on series 2.

In my opinion this just isn't as good as the BBC series. I've been watching the BBC version for years and just have a better rapport with them.

Opinions expressed are my own and do not necessarily represent those of my employer or its associated companies.

IMO, each episode got better as the season went on. It's not as good as the BBC show, but I'm happy to have a season 2.

This is a sick UK joke right? Jeremy hate's the US, so this makes no sense.

No, he actually doesn't (though at times it's hard not to forget that, see the first US roadtrip). But we're easy targets for British humor, kinda like how they are for us.

Based on a compare of the two eps this week (Top Gear and The Car Show), I still think TG is more fun to watch right now. Is it serious? No, but neither is Car Show.
