This is kind of the truth. The Armed Forces is a lot more scrutinizing about who they let in now days. You can still get in, but it's a lot more difficult, and more so depending on which branch (Air Force is most strict, then Marines, then Navy & Army).

They do this now because they figured out that the kids that didn't have enough discipline to stick around and make it through school didn't have the discipline to do well in the armed forces either. They dropped out twice as often as high school graduates. Not to mention the equipment they use is getting more and more sophisticated so you need to have a certain amount of intelligence to be able to learn how to use it.

I felt so bad for Fi. She was really looking to start making her life better and then had it all crumble. She begged to get the job and then just doesn't show up. I really wanted her to just say screw it and go to work and let everyone else try to deal with stuff. Now she can't ever plan on working at that bar again, and will probably have a hard time finding work at others (the owners/managers usually know each other and will warn about bad employees).

My heart bled a "no honey, don't" when she did that. That family really doesn't deserve her.

The Army doesn't send kids to Iraq to launch them from catapults at the enemy. They need people to actually do a job, not idiots that just point & shoot like a video game. If the job's not done right, it's not just the idiot, it's a lot of guys around the idiot that could get killed.

We ask the Army to do a job and they hire the people that can get the job done. Anyone that looks at being in the Army as just a place to go where they are going to throw you into combat to die - shouldn't get anywhere near a recruiting office.

... and that's the kind of guy dumb enough that he couldn't complete high school.

Her father is Italian, her mother Brazilian. She's was born in Sao Paolo. She speaks fluent English and Portuguese. Italian and Portuguese sound similar but are different. She is speaking Portuguese.....

Lip even makes the comment that he doesn't know Portugese, but he knows Italian and they are similar. I noticed that because I always assumed Portugese would be a lot like Spanish since they are right next to Spain.

Don't we all want an AR-15?

The whole Monica story was sad, they even coordinated sad music to pair it up.
Her cutting herself really caught me off guard.

Karen and the baby!
She was wrong by not letting Lip know.

Steve is awesome. Loved when Estefania and Marco were having sex in the back seat.
I assume Steve was the one who stabbed Marco with the bottler opener? wow
Surely Steve's idea about the ID, Passport, and Social won't work out. He also can't just let Marco take over his place.

Oh! The Bald Eagle story had me laughing hard. How silly

Preview had me expecting gunshot (until they made it clear that the gun was no longer loaded)
I was expecting pill OD (since Frank left all the bottles in the kitchen)

She didn't know - she told him she didn't know... he didn't listen...
(And I wish there had been some sort of warning before they showed THAT closeup........)

He's not really Steve, remember? They're all fake IDs... and it's a hotel room.

Yup. It fit perfectly for him to go back to being Jimmy.

So I guess the Asian kid in the delivery room was Tommy Wong? (I think that's the name she said.) He didn't come with the Gallaghers.

Add another new low to Frank .. pimping his wife out to try and get the cash Mom sent to his brother .. which then leads to Monicas attempted suicide ..

Frank seemingly freaking out .. is there really a heart in there somewhere .. ??

According to a post on IMDB: "the baby is Asian and has down syndrome. Emmy Rossum already confirmed it on twitter. "
