LaPidus and LeBlanc having to team up should prove to be funny. Down to one episode. Hard to believe.

Great season finale. My favorite part was the end of Myra holding her baby with the same expressions as when she was delivering it.

Was this the Series Finale? I know it was the Season Finale; but somehow I've got the notion that it won't be on next season. Anyone know if that's true? Episodes is the only reason I have Showtime now that Dexter is done...

Showtime usually renews their shows unless the ratings are rally poor.

I found this show by accident, starting watching last season. I love this show! Freaking funny. I really hope it keeps going. The whole cast is great. LeBlanc is hilarious!

I thought the season long Myra bit was pretty funny and paid off nicely.

Who would've thunk Matt LeBlanc would be the one with the funniest show?

I hope it wasn't the series finale but Showtime has yet to renew it. I think they could get another year out of it but if it was the finale they went out on a high note.

This pauper is waiting to see whether Comcast's watchathon the during second week of April, promotions for which emphasize HBO and Starz but mention Showtime in passing, will include this season of "Episodes."  If not, I'll subscribe to Showtime for a minimum period in order to catch this season before it leaves On Demand on April 22.

If you have not watched season 1, I would strongly recommend it. You can find it on Showtime Anytime. In my opinion, the first and this season have been the best, with the first being by far the funniest!!

Comcast's Watchathon Week does include "Episodes," so I binge-watched Season 4 on Monday.  Usually I don't like series where everybody's a jerk in one way or another (yes, even Sean and Beverly are often short-sightedly selfish) but this one is just too wry and funny for that to turn me off.

I thought Rhoda Gemignani had played Joey's mother or aunt on "Friends" and that her role in №407 as Matt's mother was a reunion of sorts, but imdb.com doesn't list any appearance by her on "Friends."

Upcoming season 5 reported to be the last.

Won't air until 2017, and will only be 7 episodes. Then they'll call it a day.

I'm going to miss it when it's gone. At least they have an opportunity to give it a good sendoff. As a big fan of Tamsin Greig I hope she's back soon on something available stateside. Show was also my first chance to notice Kathleen Rose Perkins who as Carol has great comic chops. She's also in Colony but in serious role.

Perkins had done TV comedy (not on the levelf that in Episodes) in a supporting role on Fox's 'Til Death.

Final season to debut on August 20th.

http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/twin-pe...remiere-dates/

Of course Leblanc has already moved on to probably more lucrative projects, including a sitcom on one of the broadcast networks. Wonder how much Episodes helped him resuscitate his rep. because as his hair got grayer, that Joey Triviani schtick wasn't going to take him too far. Episodes kind of rebooted his image, though of course, it never got a big audience. But maybe it helped him get these other projects because casting agents and other people developing shows probably noticed.

The guys who created or run the show probably wanted to move on too, since they were doing what, 8 episodes a season at most, with over a year between seasons?

Quote:
Writers David Crane and Jeffrey Klarik previously announced the news that the series was coming to an end, explaining the reason they're bowing out is that they had told the story they wanted to tell.

"We have had the best time making this show. Showtime has been the opposite of every network we write about.

"If it were up to them we could go on making Episodes forever. But we've told the story we set out to tell, and we'd never want to outstay our welcome."

Not a terribly amusing start to this final season. All characters are now very 2-dimensional and straining to provide through some physical comedy what is clearly missing in the dialog.

I'll see it through to the end, but I'm disappointed.

Maybe it will improve.

I feel the same way, not very funny and even a bit boring. The whole writer's room scene was way too long, silly and uninteresting. I'll stick it out and hope for improvement.

Not me I really enjoyed it. Matt Leblanc is playing a sick funny guy, and it reminds me of another real sick reality star that isn't funny at all.

These are just my opinions.

Not a great finale IMO, to a pretty entertaining show. Was hoping they were not going to go for the ending that they did. Lazy writing disguised to be clever.

Maybe they had to come up with an ending before they were prepared to.

Looked like Leblanc getting other gigs made it likely he wouldn't stay on the show.

It does make sense that Sean and Beverly would make a show about two Brits in a fish out of water tale in Hollywood.

Is that how it ended?  (Not having a Showtime subscription, I won't be able to see it for a while.)  That's how "Say, Darling" and "Deathtrap" ended; it's disappointingly cliché.

When the show was renewed for this season it was agreed that it would be the final season and that was in 2015 so they had plenty of time to come up with an ending. Yes Bev and Sean were fish out of water at the beginning but by the end of season one they were pretty well adjusted. I just didn't like the whole hey our show is the show you've been watching complete with titles.
