Thanks. It's one of my favorites. The pace of the drama would be a bit too slow for many viewers today. But I think its an important classic, particularly because of its gritty realism that most pre-1960 war movies lacked. And of course, what a great cast of fantastic actors.

One of my favorites also. Although Force 10 from Navarone released 17 years later wasn't up to the same standards. 95% vs. 64% on the Tomato meter. But still red.

I saw Force 10 from Navarone about 25 years ago, but it wasn't memorable. Literally, I don't remember it

I don't think they even phoned it in... I think they doodled it on a napkin that they thought they tossed aside, only someone found it and made it and they thought the show was canceled last year so they didn't even know this season existed.

There was one scene... where Tom said something like "I have an announcement" or "I have something to say" and in my mind I heard him follow with "I'm going to be on the Librarians, so screw this noise!"

I don't know how much screen time Noah Wyle may get on the "Librarians" Season 2 .. I suspect not much .. I grew very tired of that kids show last season, which seemed more like a "Warehouse 13" re-hash .. it's only redeeming quality being the pop in of folks like Matt Frewer, Jane Curtin and Bob Newhart ..

There is nothing about "Falling Skies" that has not been mentioned since the finale .. all I can really say is, after a very promising first season, it was sad to watch as things devolved to where we ended up .. yes, I stuck with it to the bitter end .. now, I suppose a spin off could be developed, where the nepotism of the Mason family become the new leaders of the new America .. "Would you like to be Secretary of State.. ??" ..

Personally, I felt Popes final appearance had a sort of poetic justice to it .. "Just shoot me now and get it over with" .. I'll even give you the gun, just put me out of my misery .. much like the show itself ..

Tombstone reads "Falling Skies : Gone and Quickly Forgotten" ..

May it rest in piece and not spawn a spinoff, "Fear the Falling Skies."

I hear there is going to be a sequel, which will be named Falling Ratings.

It would have to be Rising Ratings, wouldn't it? Can't go down much from where its prequel ended up.

I just finished last night. I've always liked the show, and the ending was satisfying enough.

I thought the spider-queen death was a little too simple. And the poof! of the rest of the aliens disappearing was kinda weird. I could see them dropping dead, but not spontaneously combusting.

Pope . . . wtf?

I thought it was nice that they literally said "Thank You" in the credits. I've been watching TV for over 30 years and have never once been thanked.

All in all it was a decent show, and IMO better than most. But that isn't saying much when your competition is Celebrity Bug Eating Showdown and America's Next Top Carpet Layer

It was explained that all of her alien underlings were "tuned" to her (my words). And with her coming to Earth for the finale the ending made some kind of sense. But prior to the finale she was somewhere off Earth (not explained where). I guess my point is that was some strong linkage!

The queen bug claim was that earthlings killed her kid and she came back for vengence.

What about the other planets they've taken over. Did she have kids killed there too or was that just practice?

They went to the other planets to take them over, take resources, make it their home, etc. Her kids went there and were successful. The queen only came here because her kid failed on this planet. She didn't go to the other planets because they were successful.

Not that successful because the Espheni have been fighting a war with the Volm for hundreds of years.

Maybe she should have tended to that one before invading another planet and then sitting there defenseless waiting to be killed by one dude who literally walked in.

Might have been a good idea to stay on that volcano planet where she had thousands of Overlords prepping for war and plenty of defenses. Now they are all dead due to intergalactic psychic neuron overloads. Apparently.

There's no point in analysing the finale, as it's clear that the entire fifth season came out of the asses of writers who had no idea what was going on in the previous seasons. We will never get a "canonical" ending from the people who launched a pretty good show several years ago.

I guess you never watched Roswell. The following image is from the bumper sticker that was on the car as it drove away in the series finale.

I only watched the first season. Should I watch the rest? After all, Katherine Heigl was very hot back then.

I liked the first season back when Heigl was hot and not annoying. If memory serves I think the second season did some things that were not good.

I remember Emily De Ravin appeared but I can't remember if she was the cause.

Eh, can't be any worse than what passes for sci-fi now.

I knew the series was going to tank BIG TIME when Greg Beeman departed. He must have seen the sinking ship for what it was and moved on while he still could.
