I did what you said. I stayed away. To quote a great scifi movie.
You, gmichael and others wanted to keep the negative comments to a minimum, so I just checked in. Now I am not going to do that as I am no longer watching the show.

It is funny you mention that, as the only people I have actually known that watch and "like" the show are the ones that are jonesing for scifi.
One thing that has really bugged me about this and other shows like this, but this one really brought it out, is the lack of ex-military. No offense to non-veterans out there, but I think I would probably have a better chance of surviving an attack like this.
As for the visual effects, my best friend is out. You won't have him to kick around anymore.
Spielberg looked at most of the effects and signed off on them. This is what he was looking for.
