Irrelevant. She cannot sell tickets on her name alone. That's one of the major indicators of an A-lister.

She can act but that doesn't make her anymore bankable than the hundreds of other major supporting actors out there.

It says a lot about this show that an episode dedicated to crawling around under a pile of rubble can be interpreted as "picking up the pace".

I did not like this episode, except for the last few scenes. It was way under paced and I have little interest in the backstory of the Faraday cage dude.

So are they saying the power source for all this is coming from the moon? So they are going to have to go to the moon now to destroy it???

Yup, that's how the show ends, they kill the "man in the moon".

Mira Sorvino, wins a Golden Globe for that "death sucks" line. I was blown away. What an actor!

If this was any other show I would have bailed. I've made it this far, I can't give up now. I won't be a quitter. I have to stick it out for the last season.

One little scene that I enjoyed was the show before last, where the scientist (who's entire personality changed from the previous season and somehow now doubles as a MD) was hit by shrapnel. I got a laugh from his line, "you would think that would hurt."

In all fairness, he was a brilliant Oncologist on House.

His line was really funny to me, also

Maybe we can console ourselves by saying that it's the equivalent of character development on this show. The only characters who change at all are the ones who get personality transplants each season, such as this guy and Lourdes.

I'm one who has a hard time giving up on a show that I've invested a lot of time into. I'm really, really close to giving up on this one because it is so laughable.

Hang in there! I'm in this one for the long haul...which I understand is one more season.

I try to give a lot more leeway to Sci-Fi series, but there are limits to my endurance. Falling Skies has not reached that threshold, and like the show. Not everything is perfect for me, and the series isn't in the same league as Battlestar Gallactica, but still, I've got to see how this show ends.

I'm guessing you don't (or have stopped) watching Under The Dumb?
It makes this show look downright intelligent!

What are good Sci-Fi shows out right now?

I have not watched Under the Dome, and according to the opinions of people in this thread, I won't bother.

I just finished a BBC show called Outcasts, that's already cancelled after 1 season. It was on Netflix, and I noticed one of my favorite characters from GoT was the star, so I gave it a chance. I really enjoyed it, but it was apparently a big flop and most people hated it.

"Outcast" was very good, very solid, non-silly sci-fi, I was sad to see it didn't get past a single series either. Syfy's "Defiance", with its use of stacked containers used as buildings reminded me a lot of "Outcast".

Yeah, I enjoyed 'Outcast' as well. It was going somewhere, then the rug got pulled. Kind of like 'SG: Universe'.

Extant isn't as bad as some people like to make it out to be.

They're not running "right now", but Continuum and Orphan Black are watchable.

And, of course, Dr. Who.

According to wiki, Outcast may have a novel to continue the story. Seems doubtful, but the writer has stated interest.

I just finished watching Continuum 3rd season, recently added to the netflix lineup. Is that current? Not the best show, but worth a watch. I realized why the newest time traveler seemed so familiar, too.

I'll check if Orphan Black is on netflix or amazon.

I bailed on Defiance after a couple episodes. Not something I could get into.

I did enjoy SGU, somewhat. I think because it reminded me of a book called Chindi. Ancient autonomous ship flying through the universe at a ponderous pace.

I gave up on Under The Dome midway through season 1. It actually made me miss The Langoliers. And I didn't think that was possible.

I quit watching two episodes into this season. Under The Dome s terrible. The Langoliers was so good when I read the book and was so let down by the TV movie. The same with The Tommyknockers.

While I like Sorvino, she peaked with "Mighty Aphrodite" in 1995 and it was really downhill from there .. she's past her expiration date as far as Hollywood is concerned .. but will still get work

I remember when she got the Oscar and her Dad was in tears .. Paul Sorvino, also a great character actor ..

She might think about going with a darker hair color, it's surprising how just that change alone can sometimes make a big difference,

Partly disagree. I liked her more in "Romy and Michele's" and "The Replacement Killers" than I did Mighty Aphrodite. But yeah, its been down hill since '98.

I really enjoyed her in The Replacement Killers and was hoping we'd see some of that character brought to Falling Skies, but it hasn't happened and as a result her character as portrayed is basically unnecessary.
