Woo hoo - that's even better than a Subway - they'll finally be able to print 5x7's of all those selfies they've taken along the way! Oh, and a few crates of Viagra and Oxycontin to relieve stress, and a bottle of Lexapro might be just the thing to straighten Pope out...

Gotta love how the mace came out of the can as stream and still killed the entire mass of swarming bugs and how the first redshirt fired bullets at it.

This was just bad. Instead of focusing on battling the alien race(s) we get Pope popping off. I think they should have just had a bystander walk up a soot Pope between the eyes and ask Tom if Pope was bothering him.

This show is so bad it's bad. It's not even Sharknado bad, it's just plain bad.

That's what happens when a show with a plot arc that should have filled two seasons is milked for four. But it could be worse. Two Broke Girls never should have aired a single episode.

I don't think this show is bad. Not Dome bad at least. I just think it's very, very lazy.

Given the talent involved on screen, this should always have been better than it is, but lazy writing, poor storylines and the careless use of the established canon has dragged it down.

Other sci-fi shows have done more with much less because they actually cared, but watching Skies I get the impression the writers do not give a crap and it's trickled down to even the good actors.

Wow, what a waste of a hour in a show that's pretty wasteful, This is a record. Almost zero plot advancement unless you count a few seconds where Tom gets flown off screen. What's left 2-3 episodes?

Got to say I was rooting for Pope to put a bullet in Hal, a pretty useless character, and Tom killing Pope. But no, Pope lives on and so does Hal.

I saw Tom pointing his rifle at Pope's midsection and fire. The next thing I see is Pope with a wound on his head as if the bullet juste grazed him. Did I miss something? And one person was able to fend off everybody just because he was on higher ground in a building? A complete waste of an episode.

For a second I thought the show was going to avoid the predictable and after Will's melodramatic speech about loss they would open the ominous doors and the entire family in there would be looking back, totally fine. That would have subverted the crazy lone survivor trope and would have made Will's speech look a bit misdirected. But they didn't. Major missed opportunity on multiple levels.

"I think the second he mentioned his family, I knew." So did the audience Will. So did the audience.

The situation with Pope should have been created in season three. It would have been an interesting development back then and his army could have been a clear antogonist all the time, instead of having him going from bad to okay and back again every other week. Especially since this is the final battle of a planetwide invasion and the show is going back to being The Walking Skies. The characters have a clear goal now, stop messing around with kidnap plots.

Good to see the return of superpowers. I mean, good to see them acknowledged and then not shown because apparently that was a stunt too much.

Also not shown, the high-powered Volm gatling guns. During an ambush they would be quite useful. I guess when the Volm shuttle flew back it took their weapons instead of dropping off more energy cells and you know, weapons. Must have been a loan like every other Volm weapon, or that was just the thing the writers chose to forget this week.

Not only that but apparently a rifle round grazing the side of your head is powerful enough to knock you flat on your back, as if you took a hammer to the chest.

I actually thought that quick encounter scene was pretty good and the show undid it as usual with the visual cheat. I would have even bought it if Pope had survived using a vest but that was some Saturday morning serial switcheroo bull.
