KVVU the fox affiliate in Las Vegas has it in HD as well. I will check on TBS tonight but I am guessing that they are still stretching it to death.

You can never judge a show by its pilot episode or the half season following it.

WGN 9 "The CW" in Chicago is airing it in HD @ 14 Mbit 1080i.

The quality is pretty awful. No fine grain at all. It looks like it's been scrubbed of all fine detail. I don't remember Two and a Half Men on this channel looking this bad; in fact I thought the quality of those airings was starting to approach Blu-ray quality.

Have they DNR'd the new syndicated versions?

This looks to be beyond typical bitrate-starved MPEG-2 artifacts... as if it's a problem with the source.

They're in HD on TBS, I was shocked to see it the other day. They're better than Nickelodeon's slightly sped up chipmunk sounding versions. Hopefully blu rays are around the corner.

These are about DVD quality. There's no excuse for static scenes like that.

They're charging almost triple the going price of the DVD set? ...and they wonder why Blu-ray isn't catching on as fast as they hoped. Studios continue to grossly overestimate the value of a few extra pixels to the average viewer. HD is nice, but it isn't worth such a premium. Hopefully sites like Amazon will knock off half the MSRP like they're doing with the DVD set to make the price more realistic.

You're looking at SRP on the Blu-Ray and comparing it to the going rate for the DVDs. Not even really a common going rate, Amazon's price is $150 so it's not even twice as much for the blu-rays. SRP on the DVD set is still around $200, so their setting the blu-ray for $80 more, only $8 per season. That's really not that bad. What remains to be seen is what kind of discount retailers will offer off SRP. I'm hoping Amazon will set the pre-order for around $180-200, if so I might pick it up since I never got around to buying the DVD box set.

+ after its release its only 2 weeks to black friday !!

the real question is it all the extended episodes that are on the dvds ?

edit:
& of course they arent:

"These are the NBC broadcast versions, not the extended episodes. The extended cuts were special versions created for the DVDs and no longer exist in a form that could be used for a Blu-ray release."

....well now thats a major bummer.

they could re-cut them if they wanted to, they just don't want to pay to do it. And because of that, I won't buy the blu-ray. Honestly it's terrible. The DVD versions are the best versions because of all the extra scenes and lines - and now there will never be a nice HD version of the best versions of the show. Travesty.

Honestly, while I liked the extended versions, there was a part of me that thought it was a shame that the original versions of the episodes were unavailable on home video. Now they are, albeit in a reformatted version.

We'll see an HD reissue of the DVD versions on Blu-ray or another format when and if Warner Bros. decides such a venture would be profitable.

It's interesting seeing that some of the scenes weren't shot on film, as they aren't shown in HD, but stretched SD, and don't look as good. Namely the Phoebe double scenes with her twin.

Also, last night Joey put in his tape of the commercial he shot in Japan for men's lipstick, and they zoomed in on the TV and us viewers were shown the commercial in full screen - but in full HD, kind of implying that the VHS tape is capable of showing HD video!
