I failed to say in my earlier post that I too loved the Handel piece played as the processional at Edith's wedding. It was beautiful music beautifully played on a wonderful church organ.

I thought it was a great finale. Well done and tied everything up nicely. I'm sorry to see these characters go.

I never got around to watch Happy Valley on Netflix, Then today I read that one of the actors is Mr. Molesley (Kevin Doyle). It's now in my list.

I loved Series 1 of Happy Valley and am really looking forward to Series 2. The show's star, Sarah Lancashire, is a terrific actress. Series 2 will be available on Netflix a week from today, 3/16.

I've just watched the first 2 episodes on Netflix and I agree, it was hard to stop. I know Sarah from Last Tango in Halifax where she played a Lesbian, a show I've seen the first 2 seasons of. HV also stars(as the sadistic kidnapper) the star of Granchester(another great series) he played a drunk of a priest, totally different character here. Thanks for the tip about Series 2 of Happy Valley, it's no Downton Abby and nothing really like it, but good none the less(if not a bit violent and disturbing). On a different note I was VERY impressed with the picture quality of HV, about the best looking show I've streamed, basically like watching a 1080i PBS show OTA
I suppose someone should start a Happy Valley thread if we wanted to talk about it......not that this Downton Abby thread will get much action now that the series is over
edit: Garrett Adams who does "Mr. Molesley (Kevin Doyle)" play in HV? I didn't see him, at least in the first 2 episodes

I agree that River was wonderful television. Stellan Skarsgård could not have been better as an emotionally battered detective. As is the case with most British TV shows, the rest of the cast was strong too. Apparently there is no word yet on whether there will be a Series 2. I hope it gets renewed.

Sounds like Mr. Molesley isn't in series 1 of Happy Valley but will be Sarah's sidekick?? in series 2.

Yes my Brit friend also liked "River" another one I'll have to check out after Happy Valley. Good timing as currently there isn't a whole lot on PBS I haven't seen.
Oh thanks to gwsat for posting the start of series 2 of HV on Netflix

Mr Molesley and Miss O'Brien are both up to no good in S-2 of Happy Valley.
