Seems like their taxi got them to the race track first. And she had 2 or 3 tries at changing the tire before the next team even started.
And then the driving part was one car at a time so they were queued.
The other thing is, apparently they left their big packs at the airport while the other teams carried theirs? Turned out there was a lot of running to do on this leg, from going to the landmarks to collect the postcards, to running around Wrigley Field, up to the building and then up and down the stands at the stadium.
So they could have lucked out and/or made a good decision to leave their packs behind when they got to the race track.
Also, they identified the places with the postcards accurately the first time. The Mom and Dad team got one of them wrong.
Then they may have gone to the places in the most optimal order, like take the subway to the one furthest away and then run to the other two.
I hated that they won, especially her. But I really liked the design of the whole leg, though it may be that once you fell behind on the race track tasks, there really wasn't an opportunity to catch up anywhere else unless the teams with the lead got sick or something.
Even if 2 teams arrived at Wrigley at about the same team, one would have to wait while the other one did it?
