That should pretty much cover everything that needs not to be forgotten.

It has been another very good season. I was worried about the show's concept becoming overly stale, but the writers have been varying the storylines just enough to completely retain my interest.

I really hope we get at least one more season.

This show still has its moments but I'm not as hyped for it anymore. Still watch it live and everything.

And I instantly regret coming here before I watched last night... dumb of me.

I feel the problem with this show is there isn't much to talk about. I really l like it and watch it as soon as I have time, but it isn't a water cooler style show.

My impression is that he caused smoke damage but that there was no structural loss.

Re: The season finale.

Damn, did not expect his dad to die. Was that Wilfred who was dead and pasty in the wilderness? What does that mean? Didn't understand the whole crest symbol and finding Wilfred? dead

Thanks for any explanation.

An OK season finale. If it gets renewed, guess we can expect to see it on FXX-HD next year.

It was a broken "statue" of Wilfred, with the symbol carved on his chest. What it "means?" Who knows. What is the significance of the ruined "house?" Who knows. For all we know, the whole scene was just one of Ryan's hallucinations. Tune in next season when it's all explained ... or isn't. wink.gif

'Wilfred' Renewed for Fourth and Final Season on FXX
2:00 PM PDT 10/2/2013 by Lesley Goldberg

FX has renewed Wilfred for a fourth and final season -- on FXX.

The series about a pot-smoking dog (Jason Gann) who appears as a human in a dog costume to Elijah Wood's Ryan will be moved to younger-skewing cable network FXX following a low-rated third season that saw former showrunner David Zuckerman appeal to fans on Twitter to watch the series live.

Zuckerman, who developed the adaptation and served as showrunner for its first two seasons, will also return to oversee day-to-day operations on the dark comedy after reducing his role for a year. He'll now serve as co-showrunner alongside season three showrunners Reed Agnew and Eli Jorne, who have been with the series since season one. (For their part, the duo also set up Daman Wayans Jr.-Jason Winer comedy Man/Child at Fox, which picked up the buddy comedy with a pilot-production commitment.)

Wilfred -- which will come back for 10 episodes, off from its typical 13 order -- was down considerably among total viewers in its recently concluded third season. Season two averaged a 1.16 million total viewers, while season three ended with an average of 0.58 total viewers.

I really like the show, but I'm ok with them ending it. It is a show that has a definite lifespan to me.

If they were to cancel Archer then there would be hell to pay.

Great news!

I think it's about time "Wilfred" to come to an end. It's always the same thing, Wilfed doing incredibly vulgar stuff and Ryan gets blamed. Just different scenarios.

You mean it is not about inner reality vs external influences? No examination of desire vs reality? I guess the fight between personal choices and ones ability to interface with others doesn't come into play.

You are correct, sir. So that'd be a "No", "No", and "It doesn't". biggrin.gif

Anyone else watched the series finale? What are your thoughts?

As suspected, Wilfred was just in Ryan's imagination...........

It seemed to have the Brazil syndrome of too many endings, finally backing up to things returning to the way they were. Plus it seemed that it needed another ten or fifteen minutes to fully wrap things up.

Still, a pretty good show, all in all.

I liked the ending. Ryan is happy with being crazy and enjoys the adventures that come with it, whereas the rest of us get that same level of happiness by having a normal dog as our "best friend."

Let's just hope that Ryan can cut down on his mischievous endeavors along the way.
