Nope, I'm talking about the kind of animal that walks upright on 2 feet. We used to have the stuff delivered in 55 gal drums.

Sasquatch?

I guess it shouldn't be too surprising.
Horses are ungulates and eat pretty much the same thing as cattle.

No, I haven't. Being around drums full of the stuff all afternoon at the pet shop and seeing my father prepare it for sale, for both animals and humans, which included making hamburger out of it sometimes, I never really developed a desire to try it. That's not to say I wouldn't try it in the future though if the situation arose. I was about 8 or 9 at the time, which meant horse meat was just one item on a very long list of food I didn't like.

Saturday Night Live explains the nudity in Game of Thrones

HBO's Game of Thrones has a lot of nudity in it, sometimes that nudity seems completely gratuitous and unnecessary. Last night, Saturday Night Live proposed a theory as to why that is.

A little over the top in the sex department. I wish HBO would focus GoT toward PG13 than R rating, That way my grandsons could watch it. A little dissapointing really but what the hell, this is the network that thinks Bill Mahre is a political expert. Or spurt. Not sure.

Well the source material is easily R rated. And if I'm not mistaken GOT came from the authors desire to create a fantasy world version of the 100 Years War. And life was definitely R rated back in the middle ages. HBO generally has never been a PG13 network anyway when it comes to original programming.

Not to get too off track but I don't think HBO considers Bill Maher as a political expert but rather a political satirist and/or sociopolitical commentator. As to the nudity etc I'm sure that is for ratings along with the ability of these series to go as far as any movie goes in terms of sexuality and/or violence. It is still of interest that many would think that it is okay for younger kids to see unlimited violence but not nudity/sex.

Why the hell is it important that your grandsons be able to watch it? I for one am very glad that HBO is willing to do adult material, instead of the "lets mash everything into PG-13 pablum" mentality that current Hollywood tends to exhibit.

By the way, there's nothing preventing your grandsons from watching it--if not now, then down the road a ways.

Always a chance that Spielberg will do a remake down the road and make it 5 year old friendly.

Lets see. Ned is about to get beheaded when a dragon flies down and toasts Ser Ilyn Payne right before he beheads Ned. Then Ned and Arya get on the back of the dragon and fly back to Daenerys who thanks Ned for trying to stop the hit on her.

I'm contemplating the absurdity of pushing Bran out a window for no apparent reason, because the "why" can't be depicted because it's "too adult".

What, are you quoting Larry Flint from the 80s?
No one listened then either. I'm sure it was the black jet

The adult content fits the story. Nice of HBO to keep it that way.

Agreed. If they were going out of their way to add it to the story it would be one thing. The story itself however is quite R rated. If they went PG-13 it would lose a lot of the punch IMO.

I am with the others props to HBO for having the gusto to keep it as true to the story as possible without making it "genpop" friendly.

Another great episode tonight. I really like how they are fleshing out the Tyrion character. Dinkledge is doing a bang up job and if this continues it wouldn't surprise me to see him at least a few more awards. it's very interesting to see him play the game since he a bit smarter than those before him. I'm going to like to see if the others step their game up to test him.

Read the books and I think you'll change your mind ;-)....So far this show has been quite tame compared to a show like Spartacus...If you want gratuitous thats a show that has it lol....
