But Greyworm is not properly equipped for... not that I'd blame him for trying.

Gonna be an amazing season!

the cinematography and special effects look absolutely insane...on par with some Hollywood blockbusters...no TV show will ever be able to top this...

I thought that summer was an odd time for the show to start (always seemed more suited for Fall or Winter)...but now I can understand HBO positioning this the same as a summer blockbuster movie

While I'm disappointed, at the same time I'd rather them get it right then rush it.

I'd lay money on 2018 as the final Season .. this is just some waffle words from a suit attempting to get more buzz via controversy ..

the guy writing the article is closer to the production and showrunners then anyone else...pretty much everything he writes about is true and not rumors or speculation (he always gets more Behind-the-Scenes GoT scoop then anyone and is always on set...David, Dan and HBO are adverse to spoilers leaking yet Hibberd is one of their most trusted media guys)...I believe that David Benioff and Dan Weiss need/want 1.5 years to write and film the final season...the article says it...they want to make it the most 'cinematic' season of TV ever plus they want to make sure they get the ending right...if they are still writing and scouting locations in June that tells me that the decision has already been made to delay the final 6 episodes...I would not expect to see Season 8 until February 2019...ironic given that Winter is Coming has always been the tagline for the show yet they always debuted new season sin Spring...but now that Spring is finally coming (on the show) they are debuting the new season in Winter

I don't consider what they are doing even worthy of the word season ..

as to the year, we'll see .. "Jon Snow is definitely Dead" .. right ..

I look at it as Season 7 being the final one with 13 episodes split over 2 years...plus it better fits the motif of Seven kingdoms, Seven Gods etc...I think HBO created the 10-episode season...before Game of Thrones no show that I can remember had 'seasons' of 10 episodes...usually 13 episodes was the shortest number of episodes in a 'typical' season...now everyone is doing 10 episodes, especially the prestige cable dramas (Better Call Saul, Legion, The Expanse etc)

It's essentially 8 episodes worth of material (at 55 min. average - 63 min. average with the 7 episodes). That is as long as some seasons of other shows (True Detective, Leftovers Season 3). I imagine the average length next year will be even longer.

yup, although I'm slightly disappointed that Episode 4 is only 50 minutes, which is the shortest episode ever

'Game of Thrones' Aftershow From Bill Simmons Moves From HBO to Twitter

Bill Simmons' Game of Thrones aftershow is on the move...Following one season on HBO's digital platforms, After the Thrones is being rebranded as Talk the Thrones and moving to stream live on Twitter and Periscope following each episode of the premium cabler's fantasy drama

The Ringer's Andy Greenwald and Chris Ryan will remain on board as hosts of the weekly recap talk show that aired on HBO Go, HBO Now and HBO On Demand...each installment will continue to contextualize events that happen in the mythology-heavy series based on George R.R. Martin's book series...

there's goes that...I enjoyed the show on HBO but I'm not watching it on Twitter

I would think it would be available somewhere to view on demand, as opposed to having to watch it live?

They say it will be live after each airing of GoT but that's probably the East Coast airing, 3 hours before we in the West Coast get to see the episode (though HBO Go will often put it up right after the East Coast airing).

I hope they have a Youtube channel or something.
