Last couple of seasons they've kind of been chasing headlines.

There was that dreadful Iran season, with Saul installing a mole as head of Iranian intelligence leading to peace talks with Iran.

So you have to be wary about what kind of preposterousness they will conjure with respect to the POTUS election.

CIA wouldn't be involved with domestic politics. So is there going to be some foreign plot, like a new Manchurian candidate or a foreign plot to rig the election?

the Quinn revival is absolutely stupid...his story could have ended nicely with his death...having him stick around but not be able to do his usual Black-Ops work sounds corny...the German storyline last season was great but this season it sounds like they're moving away from the Middle Eastern terror angle onto some sort of political caper...I'll still be watching but I'm not as enthusiastic based on these early previews

Homeland will not be returning to Showtime until January 2017, shifting its usual fall premiere date to a winter one...additionally, Showtime boss David Nevins told reporters Wednesday that the network is in final discussions to renew Homeland for a seventh and eighth season...

Moving it to near or after the actual inauguration. Subject matter a little too close to home for the election season?

Fun movie. I thought she looked best in her first scene with short hair. Either way though, she's a knockout.

They've been promoting the new season a lot in between shows. They allude to a change of administration and it seemed like they referenced a female president.

Oops, if that's the case.

Anyways, their plots have really been so far off from reality and plausibility.

Yeah, the best laid plans of both screenwriters and politicians oft times go awry.

Showtime purposely delayed the start of the new season until after the recent US election so I guess this storyline cut a little too close to home...I'm not sure if the writers are trying to make a political statement of some kind as they were known to do when they wrote for '24' on FOX

Good season opener, though it had some issues, it covered a lot. Looks like new opening theme music as well.
In case some of you wondering Showtime made this available for certain outlets ahead of schedule.

Well I saw the season premier, the fictional president elect really bears no resemblance to the presidential candidates other than perhaps gender.

There are some eye-rolling moments but we can wait until the 15th.

Can we defer discussion about any content until at least it officially airs on TV??

Why does anything significant or insignificant about the show itself need to be mentioned now, other than providing a URL for those who didn't know it was available for pre-view now and who desperately had to watch it immediately?

glad to hear they changed the opening credits...I always hated the music and opening title sequence...I'm going to wait until the 15th when the new season 'officially' debuts as I don't want to watch Episode 1 now and have to wait weeks to watch more

Some of it is in Bed Stuy but other scenes and production facilities are in the trendy, hipster Brooklyn areas.

Action takes place only over 72 days between election and inauguration?

Should be a lot of gloomy weather then.

Good to hear they're not staging some terrorist attack again though I don't know if a season about Muslims being unfairly treated in the US necessarily makes for the suspense the show is noted for.

I finished watching the preview episode and enjoyed it. Shows with a lot of New York locations almost always appeal to me and this season's opening Homeland episode was no exception. Also, I really like Elizabeth Marvel, who plays the President Elect. She is a terrific character actress.

from all the previews I've read this season seems like a more like a character driven political season detailing the inner workings of the US government versus a typical Homeland season where they are trying to stop a group of terrorists plotting to blow up a major city...seems atypical which I guess can be a nice change of pace but also runs the risk of being a bit too boring

Wow, they did a promo preview of episode one of the new season but I didn't get a notice on Hulu (says 12/30/2016). Put it on my watchlist for tonight.

I'm going out on a limb here and guessing there will be some plotting, domestic or otherwise .. or there better damn well be some ..

maybe the NYC setting is hitting a little too close to home this year and they don't want to invoke memories of 9/11 so they are ditching the terrorist attack angle and going a different route

Always strange when they take someone doing a similar role in a similar show. House of Cards in this case

maybe it's because I live in NYC but TV shows/movies shot in NY don't really do anything for me...plus there are tons of movies/TV shows that film here so it doesn't feel special...maybe Homeland filming in the outer boroughs might lend some more creativity to the typical views we get but overall I prefer shows shot abroad like Game of Thrones (Iceland, Croatia, Ireland etc), last season's Homeland setting of Germany or even previous seasons when they filmed in Israel...those exotic locales provide much more of a wow factor for me
