What is Carter going to do with the bodies?

Incidentally, no valuable baseball is presented without a hard case.

Yes, I have an old family heirloom baseball signed by Hall of Famer Al Lopez in 1949 when he was manager of the Indianapolis Indians AND the entire Indians team also signed it. It's in a hard case.

I understand that discussing previews might best be verboten since those who don't wish to watch them get spoiled, but discussing details of an episode that has aired should be fair game. Just avoid the thread until you've caught up with your DVR viewing.

I'm glad that the writers had her find out. It's consistent with her character being a hard ass intelligent detective. I hate plots that depend on otherwise capable individuals being oblivious. They did this just right. Don't miss the rook. I think he was a failed attempt to attract a younger viewership. POI gets great total viewer #s but a lousy % of younger viewers that networks prize for their advertisers. The protagonists are not young & sexy, Miss Shaw excepted and even she is "old" compared to many show's casts of 20 somethings.

The HR in question was originally a Task Force investigation "Homicide and Robbery" but they became a tool of the Criminal Underworld. It is mentioned in a Deleted Scene from The POI episode "Judgement".

I really liked this week's episode, although the Big Twist, which disclosed that the scammer's lady love was in reality scamming him, was fairly obvious. Nevertheless, as usual, there was a lot of fun stuff in the show. I love Amy Acker's Root to death. she is lethal and she is nuts but, man, she is appealing! smile.gif

You though that the girlfriend's guilt was obvious? Really??? It sure came as a COMPLETE surprise to both the wife and myself! We were just getting over how scheming the hypnotist was, and never suspected anther layer of intrigue. You must be a lot better at this than we are.

Gwsat and I must think alike, because I also thought the girlfriend was scamming the scammer. As I often mention to my e-mail buddies, once an Internal Auditor, always an Internal Auditor. In the immortal words of General Yevgraf Zhivago (Sir Alec Guinness), "It's a gift."

I suspected her right away. It's a typical plot twist for this show.
Put me down as another who really liked the fist bump scene.
I also liked Shaw's reaction to the lovey dovey couple they were watching thru binocs.

I thought the fist bump showed how far Reese and Carter had come as partners in doing the machine's work. They have become friends. I really like what the writers have done with Carter's character. smile.gif

I have to say so far I think this is the best season to date. Every episode just keeps getting better and this upcoming 3 parter looks great.

As for the previews to the 3 part episode... Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Simply because they showed Fusco in danger along with the line "A hero will fall" it's most likely not him. If it is in fact one of the main characters, I'd have to say that either Bear or Shaw are gone.

I thought the scammer's girlfriend seemed a little too polished, together, sophisticated, or whatever it might be called, to convince me that she was a dewy eyed naïf. On the other hand, if I didn't know Root's history of intrigue and violence, all she would have to do to convince me that she had just got off the bus from the farm where she grew up would to give me one of her sweet smiles. smile.gif

The script addressed that directly as Finch said from memory, "There's a very tall/large man upstairs/outside with lots of weapons" to Root.

That would keep me there.

I meant Finch, not Reese. And I thought Finch was referring to Reese. But Root has to know that Reese isn't there 24/7.

Yes. She's contained inside a steel cage, a Faraday shield that cuts off all radio wave electromagnetic radiation so The Machine cannot "talk" to Root. Finch may have forgotten that very high frequency electromagnetic radiation, which we call light, could come in through the window and reach Root. Who knows if she can receive an IR laser but if she's in a Faraday cage to prevent cell phone etc. access, who knows? The show has sic-fi elements, q.v. The Machine itself.

Yep, as soon as there was a "girlfriend", it seemed standard she was also grifting. And the fist bump was the best scene in the ep!

Mention eas made at the first of the episode that they could not clone his cell phone because someone had beaten them to it. There was no sign HR* or the Russians had done so, therefore the only other character in the show was the girlfriend. I figured she was the natural, especially because no clues were thrown her way. That's the way these shows flow.

The term "HR" has been used so many times, I have never heard what it stood ofr.

Abundant OTA television is what makes this country different from all others. Lets keep it this way.
The Internet is no place for streaming video.

No, Carter (Taraji P. Henson) has been around the same weight the duration of "Person of Interest". It's just that the producers / wardrobe used to hide her body in those big coats and vests she wore as a detective with a few exceptions. In Season 3, she's allowed to wear casual and "hotter" clothing, so you notice her actual body.

Season 1 Carter - around the same size:

Season 2 Carter - around same size:

TPH is just curvaceous (breasts and ass), so when they dress her in vests and coats, she looks larger.

They can't usually have Carter busting out of her clothes like  she was styled for the Season 2 POI TV GUIDE cover in Fall 2012:

My only wish is that officer Patrick Simmons get a service cap that fits him, rather than teetering on his head like a clown hat.
