I thought tonight's (2/25) outing was very well done. Downside is they inserted another faction into the mix. Plus was seeing some snow on the ground in NYC, in most shows it's always fall or spring in the city. I do recall a lot of sloppy weather in a number of L&O's over the years, but in most shows lately not so much.

It was an ok episode. I have to admit, I did fall asleep during the episode. Long day. I have it on DVR so I'll be able to watch it again.

Agreed, really liked this episode.

As far as the weather, POI and Blue Bloods does a lot of shooting in NYC. There has been some snow in each of those shows in past seasons. But you're going to see more this season with all the show the northeast has seen this year. I remember last year when they introduced Shaw, the final scene in the cemetery was shot on a bitterly cold day.

Double ditto. Good to see a new episode, especially one that was pretty well done, even with the little cliffhanger at the end which will obviously lead to a multiple story arc at some point in the future,

The streets near where I work in Long Isand City are always being shut down for POI, Elementary and Blue Bloods shoots practically every week, the Harrad movies trucks are always around, but I never see any stars, maybe it's only 2nd unit stuff. The main Silvercup Studios is only a few blocks away.

You made me remember the nights coming home from the city when the Silvercup bakery windows would be open and you could almost see them go by on the conveyer. And oh the aroma of fresh bread! Thanks!

Interesting episode, not serialized so they could have aired it anytime, they forgot about Root and Control for a while.

I hope this new guy with Fusco isn't a Carter replacement

So a new nemesis on top of the others, the team is going to be very busy now.

RIP Mom, we always love you 8/18/13

She was in the opening credits with the label "analog interface" so they haven't forgotten about her. Maybe the actress is busy with other things.

Maybe she's off in some lab somewhere, growing an ear on the back of a mouse. Then she'll graft it onto herself to replace the damaged one (the ear, not the mouse)...

Nah, she probably went and had surgery to repair the stapes that was broken, she didn't lose the ear itself, just the little bone that connects the ear drum to the inner ear, without which you don't hear. Although, I doubt she'd have much trouble with just one working ear as resourceful as she is.

The expository dialogue was blatant and atrocious. Ironic, since the writing team was live tweeting. But anyway, there are a couple lines I can remember. Reese telling Finch near the beginning something like "so you get to help people by being a 911 operator and keep an eye on the number that the machine just gave us". Like we the audience could not glean from the situation that was why Finch was being a 911 operator. I think we get the show well enough to know it goes without saying if Finch is out and undercover, he's investigating a number. Then Shaw was chasing down the car and she said something like "thanks to the GPS coordinates you sent me, I'm right where the bad guy is about to be". I think we can also assume quite easily that Finch sent her the coordinates without her telling Finch (and us) that he did so.

I get the sense they hit a creative brick wall after killing off Carter and wrapping up the HR storyline.

I agree completely. HR was THE second story-line that kept Fusco and Carter busy while helping Finch and Reese. I fear that whatever they introduce is not going to be as good as what they already have given us.

I agree that they hit the wall post HR but I was tired of the HR story line (but not Carter).
There's plenty of creative and exciting, at least to some of us, threads to explore. The Machine's continued evolution, a possible 2nd machine, Root's activities, those mysterious govt agency folks...

Nice recap of the seminal events in John's back history. Like the way that wrapped up with Root back in the picture. "She" needs their help. I wonder why specifically?

For all of you naysayers, I thought last night's episode was a great way to not only show a little history but also set the stage for future storylines. Was last night the first time we ever saw Finch in the wheelchair? We've always known "something happened" to him, so maybe we'll find out what it was in an upcoming episode.

We found out "what happened to him" last season (or the season before). Your memory fails you . . . wink.gifsmile.gif

It's a shame that in the end TCU's playoff chances all came down to this . . .

Just when I think I'm over the show, they pull me back in. What a great episode! Very creative way to connect a lot of dots. Now I can't wait for next week's show.

I think Camryn Manheim should win some award for this role. She dominates.
