I'm concerned about the dipping ratings for the show. I don't believe the show is in danger of cancellation or anything like that. But I wonder if people have stopped watching it because of the change in days it airs (they just forget), getting bored with the "save a person a week" formula, or didn't like all the conspiracy episodes.

I just deleted my season pass. No longer interesting to me.

Perhaps I misremembered.

The alarm goes off at 4:15am at our house. The show comes on at 9pm here (CST). Sunday thru Thursday we very rarely watch anything that continues after 9pm for obvious reasons. Last year we watched POI generally each Wednesday on the DVR. This year we decided to "save 'em up" till we had a bunch to watch back-to-back. So far we haven't watched any . . .

That at episode made me laugh so many times, I couldn't believe I was watching POI! I found the episode very enjoyable. A very nice change of pace. It sent me to bed with a smile on my face!

You touched on it.
Half the complaints are that the conspiracy/AI issues are too complex, arcane or uninteresting.
The other half are that it's too much of a typical crime/rescue of the week procedural like 50 other shows.

The writers & producers are attempting to hybridize the show but may be losing viewers from both ends.

I love the show because of the more than current spying on the citizenry theme, especially the AI overtones and of course the well written and well acted characters. Rescue of the week is meh.

I enjoy how this show basically reinvented the characters while staying with the broader story arc of Samaritan vs. The Machine. This last episode was very good with Reese/Riley having to adapt to both Fusco and the new Captain. Also, seeing Finch being scary was hilarious. They do eventually need to get back to how the Machine will deal with Samaritan and its supporters.

As long as I get the obligatory "Mr Reece Tosses a Bad Guy Thru a Window" periodically, I'm fine with it ..

I'm pretty much liking the semi-reboot this season .. and now that Harold has a few bags of cash to work with, who knows ..

The rooftop antenna idea was brilliant, IMO ..

I'll be interested to see where the storyline goes between Harold and Elias. Elias knows something is up with Harold and may be the one to help them take down Samaritan.

I wonder if the new cop (Fusco's new boss) at his precinct is a plant by Samaritan.

The great thing about this show is it slowly builds up the pieces in seemly simple episodes. Then in one term they reveal all the complex that were lurking in the background. They give you a typical Shaw beats up a thug scenario we have seen several times already only to have the "thug" turn out to be the mastermind behind it all. Ellias is still an awesome character they are continuing to evolve him over the years in subtle ways yet he still stays true to the core. There is just so many wonderful layers to this show.

The reveal at the end was just brilliant. When he first got into the car I thought he going to be capped for giving up the hideout and goods.

Right! why didn't Shaw caught up on that? I was also fooled I thought it was the other guy in the SUV...

Wow I also thought the DEA agent lady was a Samaritan plant but resulted in being dirty agent that got one between the eyes... ouch

RIP Mom, we always love you 8/18/13

I looked to see if anyone mentioned this, but didn't see it. Did anyone notice how Shaw parked her SUV when she had the guy handcuffed in the back seat and was out of the vehicle? The vehicles ahead and behind were almost touching--probably only an inch or two between them. That woman can really parallel park!

(Is there a production reason that they would do that?)

The only thing I thought of is she parked it that way in case he did get out of his handcuffs, he wasn't going anywhere in the SUV. Or they were making fun of how people park in NYC. We made our first trip there in June and saw several instances with parked vehicles like that.

Well, well. At long last we enter the unexplored territory foretold by the ending episode of last season. Samaritan is taking substantive steps to control and remake society while searching for The Machine. The Ragnarok battle of the Gods is beginning.

Root, "She's (Martine) in God mode now."

Just what was it that our Miss Groves was about to tell Harold that Shaw already knows? Hmmmmm....

Agreed, this was a much better episode than the last few. Get into the meat of the situation. This is a sort of ripped from the headlines story...

The best episode of the season so far. For some reason, POI has its best episodes when Ruth gets more screen time
