Since you are a moderator of this board, I am especially surprised at this unnecessary and inflammatory post. Art Modell had the integrity to purposely leave ALL the Browns heritage (name, records, player history) behind in Cleveland and fully support the development of an expansion franchise for the city he was forced to leave because of financial difficulty. He left in broad daylight, no lies or misdirection. You want to make disparaging comments about any franchise and it's owners than you need to concentrate on the events surrounding the "stealing" of the Baltimore Colts. The "Owner who will not be named", lest he return from his deserved grave, promised openly to the mayor and to the media that he would not leave without consulting with the mayor. Instead he pulled up stakes in the middle of the night, took everything including the name, history, and team records, and left nothing to a proud fan base. The fact they have the nerve to put up the name of Johnny Unitas in that abomination of a stadium in Indianapolis, AGAINST THE WISHES of the great quarterback, shows how they continue to thumb their noses at the city of Baltimore. It is a hideous blot against the entire leagues reputation for "fair play".
Johnny U. Has his rightful statue outside the Ravens stadium, where he was happy to see it erected, and in the city he continued to call home.
Unless and until the Indianapolis Blots return our name and history to it's rightful owners, no one has a right to say anything negative about the Baltimore Ravens!
And BTW, I'm a native NY'er, a giants fan, and just a Baltimore transfer resident now. But I saw what it did to this town, and it was a massive travesty!
